I can see both sides of the story. The employee taking the lunch break, thus not being on company time, and should be able to do as they see fit, in this case, have a pint or two. I can also see it as the employer, they lose money as employee is not 100% after having a drink.

Thankfully I'm lucky, in that as long as we're not totally bladdered, or seeing clients, we can have a pint at lunch. Bit hard not to when the office has a bar on the ground floor. Plus we tend to decide to have extended lunch/meetings in there
