You'd better get the pics up quick before the "Pa*i wheels" taunts start

Having said that, the Supra is quite popular amongst our ethnic friends

BTW, I might not be able to make it next week, as with any luck we might be just into our new house, if these bl00dy solicitors can pull their fingers out

Just for the record the are not three spokes and to prove will post some pics as some of you havent seen it yet have you!

Morning Martyn mate. When I saw it the other day, I'm sure there were only three spokes....

Default MOT Failure!

failed the MOT today. After two hours going over it with a fine tooth comb.. it failed on...

1. Smearing wiper blades.
2. RH Headlamp out (yes, yes, Andy, I know! ).

Me: 'The blades are new(ish) and I've probably got a bit of polish on the screen from cleaning it, it'll take two seconds to clean up with some spirit. The lamp has a quick adjuster inside. I'll give it a go with your alignment kit..' (I'd re-aligned it by sight against the house wall some weeks back after finding the adjuster.. looked pretty good to me)

Mech: 'Can't touch it I'm afraid, that's extra work. You'll have to come back'

Me: 'It'll take 20 seconds to clean the screen and 30 seconds to twiddle the ****'

Mech: 'Sorry, you'll have to re-book.'

Me:

Only took it there for the 1/2 price MOT advert. Talk about fookin picky.. Another hour or so out of work, inconvenience and possbile repay for the test (need to confirm this).. all for a minute or two to fix.. to$$ers.. May take it to another place and get it through there....

You shouldn't have to pay for a re-test if it's taken back within a certain time limit (can't remember if it's a week or two). You must take it back to the same place though, or pay for a full test elsewhere. But there's always a chance that somewhere else will pick up on something different. Bleeding jobsworths.

And I couldn't reply without a dig...

Are you sure the smearing on the screen was polish? You've not been getting cver excited whilst listening to 5ive again?

sorry

J4CK50N, come on, pull yer finger out. How long can it take to photoshop some decent wheels onto the thing?

That is not even remotely funny!!! Luckily people should know it is not mine as it is just too damned clean!!!

Will have to borrow my bosses camera this afternoon now and take some real pics to host ASAP.

I dont mind people thinking my cars are dirty, but 3 spokes - come on guys, i'm all for retro but 1995 and 3 spokes are something that should stay in the past............

..................as well as 5ive!!! (Soz Al , couldnt help it!)

AL - you should be able to take it back for the re-test within 7 days, they should only check the things that it failed on too!! Sounded like the mechanic was a real jobsworth!

Phil

Hope you find a motor soon. You do the right thing though by being picky. You'd be well peeved if you blew your pounds of the realm on a piece of crap!!

Until later

It's almost standard with a few places I've heard about - cheap price to get you in, find odds and sods wrong and then offer to fix it for extortionate costs which makes then a "slight" profit over the price of a full MOT in the first place...

PS has anyone seen the heap of sh1te around Huddersfield that's an Orion painted scooby burgundy with a blobeye STi scoop and rear wing It's also got rally flaps to try and complete the package...

I saw it by Tolson Museum a few nights ago but didn't have the camera at the ready - was too at the car and the chav inside thinking he'd got himself a wicked mota

Unfortunately, it may be some poor soul that's lost the aforementioned bits as if he'd paid dealer prices, they'd be worth more than the car

Hopefully a few new attendees next week.

My missus bumped into a WR1 owning guy (Hi Dave ) in Boots (he had a Scooby jacket on and was easy to spot!) Previous motor before his previous STI, a RS 200. Yes 200.

Dave and his mates (no names but RS Focus and Lotus) do the rounds on the continent (Nurburgring in the 200 no less & the Alps) and are known for jumping into their rides and nipping off for a Xmas Chinese takeaway..... on the Mulsanne straight.. .

I'll be picking his brains some more about a possible tag along to the next Le Mans, as he's a regular with pre-booked house rental.

So if Dave's still up for some extra bods (even if we camp in the Garden) then I do feel a nice pleasent trip coming on..

Phil, Waheyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done mate.

Don't listen to the inferior majority, we both know you've made the right decision

More info... Colour, spec, etc.

If it's an import, and has no warranty, then you could do a lot worse than get it serviced at BTR in Castleford. Well respected service / tuning / rally prep. centre. They're just round the corner from my place of work, so we could have a couple of shandys and a natter while they're on with it. Let me know if you want their number.

Oh, and welcome to the DARKSIDE, my son. It is your destiny!

Nice.

Don't worry about missing the burble, just find a nice quiet walled road, drop the windows, boot it, and smile

At 4k+ you'll be grinning from ear to ear. Only problem is you never want to drop below 4k
