No danger is that video of the standard bugeye WRX actually a video of a standard WRX unless its going down a VERY steep hill. It posts a by the clock 0-100 time almost identical to my old classic which is lighter (noticeably) and had more power (270bhp). Interestingly it also destroys the 0-30 with no tyre squeel which, having personally launched many a scooby, is in my opinion rare and strange.

I'm not going to bother arguing mate, I know I'm right. I don't have the 172 now so it bothers me not!
The only 172 that weighed 1035KG was the 172 Mk1 with the alloy bonnet. The Mk1 with the steal bonnet was slightly heavier and the Mk2 with more sound deadening, stiffer chassis, bigger alloys, more electrinic gizmo's was even heavier.
The reason that those pages haven't been updated is probably because Jas can't be bothered updating it, not because it is fact.

I havnt had a spirit level on it or anything, but it looks perfectly flat to me, and you would have thought that it would have to be, due to being used by airplanes. Maybe someone on here knows if there are any laws that govern aircraft runways ? - if its not exactly flat then there is a 50% chance I was going uphill ! - but im sure its bang flat.
Also, the speedo wont be exactly correct, I think bug ones are generally around 4 mph out at 100mph and less at lower speeds (3mph at 80, 2 at 60 etc).
The mods are full PE exhaust (twindump downpipe, sports cat, center and BB) and K&N panel filter. Max boost according to blitz boost gauge is 1.1 bar peak, 0.95 held)
You dont have to belive me if you like, but those are the facts - dont forget, im not really too bothered what ppl think of my cars performance, scoobys and cars are a very secondary interest to me - I just cant find any good skydiving forums !! ;-)
Heres a clip of me (blue suit with orange helmet) doing 0-120 faster than your old classic did 0-60, or not far off - LOL

Therefore if Renault are putting incorrect information on their VIN plates how can you believe what their saying in a press release???
Are you sure when you said you've had it confirmed by Renault you weren't asking the kid that washes the cars outside the showroom!
LOOK bottom line: have cliosport.net actually weighed both cars?
Jason
PS does bluenose = Birmingham?

When I said go look at www.cliosport.net, I meant for you to goto the forum and search the forum.
After the Cup was released Renault.co.uk updated the weight of the MK2 172 on their website, obviously it's not there anymore.
I must admit I had the same reaction as you when I found out that Renault had lied about the weigh about my car. Looking back now I can't see why I got so worked up....it was still a quick wee thing(15.0s 1/4 mile)!!
