Clutch judder on MY00 Cars
My dealer replaced the clutch at the 2nd service without any problems, apparently there wasn't much wear (I must do some more standing 0-60's
). At the moment, I'm still getting used to the new biting point, will let you know if the judderman returns...

My car was serviced on Monday - no problems. The garage took it for a test drive, but they did not experience any clucth judder.
I must admit that it has been much better for the last couple of weeks, so I'll just keep an eye on things for now.
Once again, thanks for all your replies

If this is a regular thing for all MY99/00 cars, does anyone know what sort of costs would be involved in fixing this problem once the warranty has expired. If you end up having to replace the clutch every 10-20,000 miles then it's certainly a factor to bear if you run up a lot of miles in your Scooby.

This is not just a MY99/00 problem. My MY98 has had clutch judder for over a year and I have read other posts from MY 97/98 owners with the same problem. It doesn't happen very often, so I just put up with it.
When the clutch wears out I intend to replace it with an AP version.

Oh dear,
ever since Paul Walker mentioned "the Judder" in the pub the other day, i too have started noticing a similar problem when pulling away from cold for the first couple of clutch-outs. The car is a MY00 (Jan) Turbo with 11,500 on the clock.
Does it get worse over time (first several changes, then first upmteen?) What difference does the replacement clutch (with a different spec) make?
I may formally mention it at the next service, just to make sure that it can be covered under warranty.

Me getting PARANOID now!!! MY00 with around 4.8k on it is fine - no prob.s?
Does that mean I should try and kill my clutch before Feb 2001 (warranty end) so I can get it replaced?
Oh, I do no commuting. I don't think 'she's' ever been in a traffic jam. 'She' just normally makes quickish progress around 'A' and 'B' roads.
