what might be a greater detterent (?) would be to show them footage of fat people from days gone by and all the troubles their kids will have later on in life.
much like the heroin girl advert.
mention the fact they are almost a dead cert for heart disease, diabetes, ridicule, shortened life span.
not forgetting always being skint cos their food bill is three times that of a normal person.

on a serious matter, dont these parents who let their kids eat shyte constantly (while piling on the pounds) realise the terrible effects they are directly inflicting on the kids allowing this to go on?
put them on a salad/cornflake/cabbage/atkins whatever diet and if they dont like the food they will lose weight all the quicker.

Bit unfair to pick on peeps if you dont know their backgrounds or hereditary background. My sister in laws mum has an **** the size of an ox, therefore it must be hereditary IMO

There was a huge lad at my sons footie team. It was a shame coz he suffered from asthma and was on steroids which made him big as a consequence his knees couldn't handle the weight and thus forcing him not to train as hard if at all. Shame really he was a nice lad and often got depressed because he couldnt keep up.

At the end of the day you can call people what you like but remember that none of us are lilly white. I smoke so i'm the last person to harp on about NHS costs just as much as a heavy drinker shouldn't moan coz he runs the risk of liver failure and cancer.

Yes peeps are fat and not just overweight but to have a pop at all fat people by saying they over eat is foolish.

Having said all that, i agree that the family in question do have problems but just because you can't help but see it doesn't mean that there aren't other issues contibuting to the problem.

At the end of the day do the parents feel any guilt if their
kid is a space hopper with legs. The parents can be as fat as they want as its their choice. Bit unfair on the kids who may not know any better.

Nanny state politics especially about fat people can only be a good thing. But we all know what the majority of people think about a nanny state....think of motoring restrictions, smoking bans etc.

 

my boy is 7 a little over weight but plays rugby twice a week rides motocross as much as he can i'm really worried he'll turn into a porker the implecations are to much[diabetes,heart disease etc]my little girl is eleven and very skinny and small for her age ,she is also made to exercise i guess what i'm trying to say is i don't think parents should go to jail but should be made to attend healthy living classes .

I think its a joke if a parent is jailed for having a fat kid.

You cant keep an eye on your kids all the time, they may sneak down at night for a snack or have there tea at a mates house and then come home and eat the tea you have made them.

 

a lot of fat kids nowadays do'nt eat too much. The problem is they only have one a&*$hole.

The worst bit is when they are wheeling you down the corridor to the theatre and you know they are about to unzip your chest, stop your heart,collapse your lungs, do the bypass surgery and hope that you wiil restart 4.5 hours later!
