Just back after a meeting - with my Shrink - he he - still ranting are we chaps?!
I got the springs fitted 6 months after getting the car. Quite simple - the price I quoted you includes the price of the springs, however they were two separate transactions - the car from crossroads, the spring kit from the henley-in-arden dealer, as they quoted 150, yes 150 quid less for the springs + fitting (300 vs 450).
I didn't get them fitted at purchase because I was a little anxious about getting the stiffer springs with two young babies. As it turned out, I tried one with the springs after buying and decided it would be fine, which it is.
Ask Jon if you wish. They sold me an STI PPP Type UK plus the kit listed for 27K. Bonza. Just phoned loads of dealers, asking for their best price, then then Scott matched it. Include the spring price, and we're just over 27K. Not bad for new UK supplied car. Of course, it's depreciated like hell now like everyone elses, but I'll keep it for a few years and enjoy it.
Are you suggesting you can't get them for that price???? Surely others have done the same on here!!?? Give my regards to boys in service when you're there.
1-0 to me I suggest. Bring it on!!!

Oooh, I make that 2-0.
Okay - I'll stop now. I know I've been a wind-up merchant. It's Friday. It's 6pm. I'll accept I was intentionally rude. Sorry. The prices quoted are true through.

Sorry to disappoint you though.....don't think you've managed to detract from the WR1 experience in any way.
Good for you getting the prices you did. But compared to JDM / Litchfield purchasers you've been shafted aswell you pays your money you makes your choice.

Still don't see anyone disputing my numbers though, which of course you can't, as they're true figures. As for shafted, ho ho, I wanted a UK car. Could have bought an import, which I'm sure are better, but I chose not to. In the same way you chose a WR1.
It was a wind up, as I stated in a previous post. It's fun sometimes - I said sorry!
Anyway, enjoy your cars. I don't doubt for one minute they're quicker than STI PPP's, and both hugely faster than most other hum-drum stuff on the roads.

[Edit] NB: Gubbins has now edited the above thread to remove the bit which says "My wife drives the car most of the time and doesn't like the DV .. " [/Edit]
Is that why you're seeing a shrink ?
Joke ! I've seen my fair share of shrinks as a search of my posts would reveal
You've no need to say sorry at least you didn't say they were a gay colour !
off to enjoy my weekend.....enjoy yours.....just not too much

and in relation to Fogs,
Wrong again, these are driving lights!
Best you do keep to airfields or tracks, I'd hate to be anywhere near someone like you on the road

Just the one question, for Hawkeye.
On the WYIOC run up into the dales I was the one behind you for most (all?) of the run (flashed you, pulled over and had a chat when everyone else buggered off).
I'm in the wife's STi8 following what I am firmly led to believe by the badge and spoiler, is an 02 WRX, no STi badge, no Sti spoiler. (assuming that's you in the black one, otherwise I'm gonna look an ***!!!)
So I'm there, reassuriing the kids that we'll be okay as long as we're behind the WRX in front. If he can go round these corners, then so can we (I hope!!)
Is this a stealth thing we've got going?
What happened to the spoiler (or am I showing my ignorance towards early UK STi's?)
This is not a flame, or attack of any sorts, just wondered if a) it was you in the first place (I'm pretty sure it was) and b) ...why?
Sticky.

...and as for 'destroying' an FQ300... (but let's not turn this into another Evo vs Scooby thread, it's much more interesting as a Scooby vs Scooby one )

O M G what have I started...............
Everyone should enjoy their cars and the decisions they've made, my comments at the front "THE FINAL VERDICT" was MY final verdict based uopn the event that happend with me, dazza and a wr1 owner. Another time it may be different.
I am however jealous of the dcccddccaccdddccddddcaacdddd thingamyjig
wonder if it can be retro fitted to MY02's??

...or do you not believe that the soon to be released sti in the uk will not match your spec? (bar ppp and spring kit - so what - add another 2.3K for that lot and you're still saving approx. 3K on a WR1)

new 05 Euro STi + TSL upgrades (£19.5k from Carsupermarket + £600 for performance enhancement to 335lb ft) - I make that a WR1 beater for £20k!!!
By the way guys, love the WR1 - just a provoking muse....

Saving that little toy for the track methinks. Guy I took out who has a 360 Modena thinks the DCCD is amazing - especially being able to use it as the car is moving!
