I remember the impact it had on me the first time I read a car review (Performance Car ?) of a 'standard' vehicle that did 0-100 < 10 seconds. It was a 400bhp Dage 935 Porsche and I WANTED ONE !!! Beautiful drop nose variant of the 911 ..... anyone else remember it ?

I'd say a lot of it is to do with the driver rather than the car. I think most of us know that 10, 20 or 30 bhp isn't going to be hugely faster.
The main think i found when driving the WR1 compared with an STi and an STi PPP is that the power delivery seemed smoother in the WR1.

I should add that my Scoob does have PFF7s and Prodrive springs like the WR1, but also Whiteline ARB, droplinks and antilift kit unlike WR1.
However, I must admit that it is much easier to get the back end out on demand in a WR1.

I've already managed to put a nick in a front alloy thanks to a pothole and get a screw in a rear tyre.....and still on <1000 miles
expensive hobby this

When we later stopped for a chat I found out that the WR1 had grounded out on some of the bumps, whereas my "lowly" 02 STi had been OK. I guess the speeds were between 60 and 90 mph in general.

I fairly recently went for run with a few on here on the Evo pass in North Wales, I was amazed at how sure footed the car was! She never put a foot wrong and I wasn't exactly taking it easy and the road, if you can call it a road, isn't the smoothest I've driven on Oh I had 3 passengers as well.
Re: this thread, a bit of fun or as interesting as it maybe, isn't this WR1 witch hunt getting a bit boring? 'THE FINNAL VERDICT' lol you should go become bum chums with Clarkson or write for a Tabloid, sensationalizing or what
I've had a go at a Evo Mr340 from a standing start (up quite an incline) upto and including 4th and 5th gear and in the early gears I was having to change a little early to avoid going into the back of him and in the later gears there was absolutely nothing in it... So? I still don't believe I'm quicker then the 340. I wouldn't care too much if I was. I bought this Scoob coz I wanted this specific package.
I personally don't think i could achieve Prodrives stats but I don't think I'll be far off.
Unlike some on here I do enjoy reading Vs's threads and I know this thread wasn't meant to create too much animosity so non taken and I hope I haven't caused any

Love the thread. I personally don't like the way this thread has gone. May I get us back on track. I believe the WR1 to be an overly hyped, barely improved car, with exagerated performance figures driven by sensitive owners. Dazza/Hawkeye have demonstrated at long last what we all knew - you paid 3-5K more for a sack of (light green) cack, which will not hold it's value any more than any other recent scoob, esp. when the MY05 model comes out with similar spec. Discuss.

Lol gubbins mate you take the biscuit!!
Ever driven a WR1 on your own with nobody there saying oh don't rev it like that or drive my car like that? Doubt it!!
STI ppp is around 27k - wr1 is 30k ... so what do you get ...
Adjustable Centre Diff
PFF7 Wheels
Prodrive Suspension
Prodrive uprated handling (bump steer etc)
Additionally boosted PPP above and beyond the standard PPP
Fogs
Front Grill Mesh and Prodrive Exhaust with Sports Cat
etc etc
Think that comes to slightly more than 3k extra mate!!
Would sincerely love to meet you on a track or airfield in whatever scoob you drive - just to shut you up!!

I paid 3K less than you last year for new dealer supplied STI Type UK with:
(STI ppp LIST PRICE is around 27k - who pays that??? Oh, sorry, WR1 owners do!)
PPP (including exhaust and sports cat!! LOL!);
18" Titanium alloys;
Prodrive springs/bump stops;
Mats;
STI sill covers;
Tissue paper dispenser.
So mate, your differences are marginal, and will be non-existent come 3 months time when MY05 has the same kit. As I said, you've been rogered good and proper.

...or do you not believe that the soon to be released sti in the uk will not match your spec? (bar ppp and spring kit - so what - add another 2.3K for that lot and you're still saving approx. 3K on a WR1)
