Mine clicks really loudly when I eat, to the point where people keep asking wtf the clicking noise is. They seem shocked when I tell them its my jaw.
It doesnt hurt, but occasionally when eating something tough, I will get a monster CLICK that makes my eyeballs rattle. That hurts. Lots.

Sitting here just now, not eating anything, if I move my jaw side to side or back and forward a wee bit it clicks at both sides.

I have never been to a doc about it. Knowing my luck, they would want to amputate my head or something like that to cure it.

My jaw started clicking after a bit of fistycuffs (notice any similarities with previous posts?....) and having some 15st bloke land on it while I was on the deck. To be honest don't even notice it anymore although the area between jaw and an area goes numb on occasions.

Can't be bothered to mention it to the GP as have enough trouble with the medical profession trying to sort my knees out!

one third of the population have a jaw click (ish)

try pushing your jaw a centimeter or so forward so your teeth meet at the edges and then open and close. Does the clicking go away ??

Default Click...munch...click...munch

I have the same thing, started after a spell of jaw / bat related incidents over a short period as a kid. Everytime I see the dentist he remarks on my dislocated jaw and asks me if I have any trouble. I always say 'no its fine'.

I move mine about a bit from side to side and back to front. Usually cures it for a while. Sorry if thats a bit graphic!

I know this sounds stupid, but it is quite common for calcium deposits to build up in the jaw which permeate through from the gums (the source of the calcium often being from the Cowper's Glands). These deposits can cause a clicking noise.

hi you better go to your dentist as i have this and dentist says it could be because i grind my teeth at night or i have a "hard bite" whatever that is. But get transfered to an oral specialist because they can provide you with some muscle relaxant drugs which dentists can't. id get this done because have a friend who has developed TMJ and can't open his mouth more than 15mm.

There's not much calcium in spunk, actually.

Well that's what the Cowper's glands help produce. I think imlach may be getting his anatomy confused. Perhaps he means the parotids?
