I'm seriously not happy!!!
A few years ago my then g/f and I ordered a new Peugeot 306 diesel. We found out that if we put down 50% of the total price, we could get 0% finance if we could pay it off within the year. We agreed to that and we also agreed that they would take her Escort as part of the deposit, he quoted us a BRILLIANT trade in price.
When we got the paperwork through we checked it and found that there were inconsistancies in the amount we were going to pay, which amounted to nearly a 1000.00 more than we had agreed to pay. We returned to the salesman, who admitted he had made an 'error'. He said that it would be corrected. True to his word a few days later we got amended paperwork through, again they weren't correct. We returned and spoke with the salesman, who then admitted he had screwed up when he had priced the Escort. At this point, some 3 weeks after the original order was made, we found out that he hadn't ordered the new car at all. Naturally we spoke to the dealership Manager, who stated that he would 'deal' with the salesman. We got a CD player at cost put in the car as part of an apology. The car arrived 5 days later then was originally due, we had a loan 406 for those 5 days.
The moral of this story, check your paperwork thoroughly and ensure the car has actually been ordered!!

repairing of new cars is a major business. One of my friends owns a car repair place and will now only deal with dealers on new cars.
Damage includes
Scrapped bumpers
Scratched panels
Brake fluid marks on roofs of the ones on the bottom deck of transporters
Loads of cars go out to people with fresh paint, filler, extra stickers to cover marks etc (a good one used by loads of dealers).

My brother worked at a BMW/Porsche/Mini dealership in the US during his Uni vacation. On his first day he managed to reverse an X5 off the trailer into two other X5's that were parked (all brand new).. He thought he'd be out on his **** but it was laughed off as it happens all the time apparently..In fact they congratulated him on "popping his cherry"!!

I've seen no end of stuff done - brand new cars seriously abused (burnouts, holding them on the limiters for miles, handbrake turns round our compound, some hardcore racing)...
Cars getting squashed on transporters (Corsa needed a new front end, astra fell off, squashed roof on a Vectra)..
Cars crashed at the docks & being held up whilst being fixed...
Doesn't matter if it's new or used - if the dealership gives the staff used company cars, they get abused just as much. I did a placement for Vauxhall & had to work in a dealership when I saw all this...
I virtually wrote off a VX220 which to my knowledge is still being driven today, I didn't really treat my 'company cars' with any respect as they were not not to worry about & we only had them for 3 months at a time before they were sold into the dealer network for them to then sell them onto the public...
Crashed a few new shape Vectra's in the snow, fix them up & sell them on...
It's not just the dealers, half the time they don't know whats happened to the car before it gets to them

It's scared me for life buying off a dealer now!
