Thumbs up

Thats a beauty mate!
I've been spanking my Boss's 996 C2 all weekend so i know how lucky you are. It's def turned my head.
Lets face it the running costs arent going to be much worse than the scoob!
I cant get the trip comp to register less than 21.7mpg - not bad for a 3.4 litre car (I'm lucky if the scoob gets over 20mpg!).

You'll love it the more you drive it, take a proper race driver lesson and you'll suddenly realise what all the 911 fuss is about... to get the best out of a 911 you have to drive properly.

Enjoy it.

I really do hope your not going to badge it as a GT3, if you do sad, very sad

If you cannot afford the real thing don't spoil a perfectly good car by making out it's something it's not

What Skyline have you got?
It's an R33 GTST. Hubby's thinking of using it for drifting though. It's silver with a black bonnet and STICKERS!!!

He's also got a Skyline, it's his baby beast YIKES

They've stuck the steeringwheel on upside down, suprised it passed the inspection with that gross error
New goal, get 22B as second car..I had to wait till I was 33 to sort that out LOL
And watch out, porker owners are a miserable bunch, never wave back. I think there is a special etiquet for porkers, you aren't allowed to wave at 'better' (read 'more expensive') models unless they wave first. But on the other hand you aren't allowed to acknowledge 'lesser' models. So no waving at all between 996's. You can wave to all the classics (SC, 993 etc) though.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I just drove it back home, I'm in love!

It really is awesome!! Far nicer in the flesh.

The badge is being changed back to a Carrera one on the 2nd of Sep.

LOL @ Dark Blue Mark

I will miss the cammeraderie of scoob ownership, but I'll keep waving at the local scoobs (untill the men in white coats come to take me away) hopefully they'll recognise the number plate and not just think I'm a kn0b!

Got to agree about the badge, it's like a 318 having an M3 badge.
If it's not a GT3 it shouldn't be badged it as one, it's a great car in it's own right, no need for that.
Glad to hear you are changing it. Looks fantastic

I considered many, many cars, but there could be only one.

I do miss the scoob, up until now, it is the most unique driving/owning experience I've ever had from a car. I can't see any other car leaving such an impression, it's difficult to explain really.

If you see a Porsche in the Poole/Bournemouth area giving scooby waves, you know who it is!

you really think so (regarding residuals)
.......my m8 boughts a 966 carrera 2 98(s) for £38K last year drove it for 9 months .. px this year for a 966 twin turbo(£75k) GUESS THE PRICE FOR HIS CRRERA2 !....28k
So anther friend bought a Ferrari 355 £60K had it 3 months took it back to the dealer 45K .so you can lose money on any car BIG time (even ferraris )
driving dream machines cost big time .....enjoy

28K! He could have sold it for more surely! I'm confident that in 4 years my 996 will be worth more than a T25. Not knocking the T25, infact I may buy one in a year or two as a second car, when they cost around the 10K mark

So far the 996 has been cheaper to run than my scoob (Type R). Cheaper to insure, cheaper on fuel, bigger service intervals. Insurance doesn't require a tracker (though I've put one on for my peace of mind). Plus the 996 has a warranty, so if something does go wrong, it will be covered. So all in all I'd say it's cheaper to run than the scoob.

I would love another scoob though, as a play thing, perhaps an early Type R/RA and then mod the living snot out of it

Hi Myk, I'm not sure yet if I can make this one. I'm normally free on Mon.
I'd like to bring it along and show her off, especially as I've just used some P21s polish on it, it really is the best stuff I've ever used. Beats the cr4p out of anything I've ever used before, well impressed.

If I can make it I'll be there.

Lovely car - been thinking along similar lines myself

The sports exhaust alone is worth the money (thank the previous owner for the retro fit - they are serious money (nearly 2 grand I think)). I replied to your thread on S9s

Thank you. I won't mention the Pikey slur Yes, I am the genuine article, a real Pikey! I'd change my SN name to Mad Pikey if I thought my mother wouldn't find out and kill me! (she really is a Mad Gypsy!)

It doesn't have a sports exhaust after all. I thought it was a little quiet!
The guy I bought it from said the las seller told him it had one. Just got it back from OPC today for a badge change, they confirmed it doesn't have PSE. Will have to fit one though, 2k or not!

Gorgeous car Mate. Spent last week driving a black 996 C4s Cab in the States, funnily enough.. My Dad's latest toy. This was my first 911 experience and I loved it to bits. Same wheels as yours too. Went to the launch of the 997 out there too. I was pleasantly surprised by it.. I just need to start saving now!

Mad Gypsy - shame about the exhaust - believe me you would know if it had one fitted. My neighbour's 996 has one - wakes the dead when he starts it in the morning I love it. If you've ever see the Porsche Carrera Cup race series you'll know what the PSE sounds like!
