Dave's already said that we can use his car park and has given directions at the top of the thread... IMO, that is the best place to meet up. I suggest the first guy there who knows where it is parks on the road facing down to the roundabout as it's a bugger to spot..

I'm not sure how long it took us last time, so can I suggest a meet & greet at 7:30 at Dave's car park.. and set off at 7:45.. how's that sound..? Dave did suggest 7am.. yes. AM..

However his logic was probably spot on as we have few more cars and therefore may want to squeeze everyone into a nicely relaxed day where everyone can drive to their hearts content. No rush. Plus we have to meet up with Red Man & the South Yorks guys too.. (How long will it take to get to the Ferrybridge services in case anyone want to meet there? 20 Mins? And then we need the time to get to the next meeting point for RedMan et al?) We'll be stopping off for some Optimax & last minute supplies in Scunny..We'll also have to have the brief and a possible track walk this time? So 7:30 for 7:45 should get us driving at about 10am...

BBQ at 12:30 ish and finish when' we've no tread left... Cool..

Sorry I am going to have to join the growing list of people who are dropping out. I have been let down on a shift swap at work and since it was never formally requested I hasve no come back and have to be in.

As stated by someone above if there is any financial shortfall by me dropping out then please let me know.

Gents. I am trying to get hold of David reference the price.
In order to keep you all informed; I believe the track day is a fixed price and therefore as people drop out, the price goes up for the rest.... people have kindly offered to pay their share for their cancellation, but it still makes it a little awkaward as their could be potentially more drop out... we're not talking huge amounts, may be £15 ish on top of the advertised prices.. Tuition guys will still have to share the £150..
I'll endeavour to get hold of Dave & find out the score..

From the threads I reckon you will be at M18/M180 services at about 08:30, assuming you set off at 07:45.

Will see you all there - look for MY04 Black STi Type UK, with a carnation in its top pocket . I guess, however, that I am unlikely to miss a convoy of Scoobs!

Is there a mobile number, maybe Al can pm me.

Any other guys/lasses meeting at the M18/M180?

I've not had the tuition, but I'm sure someone will post the type of things Howard says or does.. However, Howard does drive your car to show in practical terms the type of thing he's trying to get across... You sit and watch for a few laps.. You then got out for a spin with Howard making pointers and remarks.. you come in and can go out as much as you like to practice.. a bit later you take him back out to show him your new talent..

The tuition guys get a track ticket for themselves so there's always one of you on the cct for the time Howards with you.. no waiting around.. When your turn comes back round, out you go..

I'm aware that he does push the car and drives quickly. So don't be shocked..

Everyolne who had the tuition last time said they got a lot from it..

Remember that the track isn't Silverstone smooth. It is designed to test a rally car and upset the balance etc.. so this isn't fast cct driving techniques.. more along the lines of car control & balance...

Yes the instructor does initially drive your car (2xSTi8/Evo7/02WRX etc last time), & you have the...er....pleasure of watching from the passenger seat how it should be done! & that's quite an eye opener for starters. Without that it would be difficult to appreciate how far you can push in complete safety if/when you subsequently listen to the excellent advice which is offered when you get behind the wheel.
I can only speak for myself but it is/was the best money I spent & if you're a novice it helps with confidence as you go out on your own later on.
Obviously it's a big thing handing over the keys & I'm sure it's not compulsory if you weren't keen & the instruction could be done with just you driving. (IMHO though the professional is not as hard on the car as you're likely to be).
Looking 4ward to a top day.

I can only echo what Mr Stevechaps (BTW, congratulations on 500 posts ) has just said. Money well spent. Just watch for the red mist descending the first time he says 'Right, I'm gonna time you on this next lap, just drive within your limits and don't kill us...' Could have timed me with a bleeding sun dial the first time! Slide, spin, overcook, overcorrect...

As things stand at the time of writing (23 confirmed attendees) costs would be around £35 per car, assuming I'm working to the same kind of figures as Dave.

Needless to say, this is still a very inexpensive trackday

Thanks guys for chipping in with the description of the tuition.

As Dave has paid a fixed amount for the day the cost will be shared equally across the group (except tuition). But I completely agree with Sticky that £35 (hopefully staying around this figure) is still unbelievable value considering the time you can spend on track (i.e. all day, as often as you like, when you like.. )... However this will rise if more people drop out..

We needed to ensure that everyone knows what the costs will be upfront....

Has anyone mentioned the Gatso on the start/finish straight?

It was installed immediatley after Dazza left last time. Dunno why, but there was some mention of 'take off speed' and 'sound barrier'

Anyway, it's set to 50mph, so you Scooby owners will be fine to boot it down there

Why thank you. 4 1/2 years, phew!

Forgot to mention btw that as well as Dave giving me a stopwatch for the Scoobies on saturday he also dropped off a sundial which I (obviously) misheard him say had got a bit sticky......suddenly it's all so clear

Seem to be dropping like flies when push comes to shove

Well I'm still going. Fitted the track wheels on Monday night so I can ready as soon as I arrive. Only thing to cut my day short will be the pads. I was going to change them last week but when I took one of the front pads off it still had loads of meat left on them. So I'll be going till I hear scraping lol!

Also have an 1987 Audi ur quattro in reserve should my scoob decide to chicken out (don't think so).

Given the above threads I may be up for some tuition also - as a trackday novice. Especially keen to learn on the bumpy stuff.

Sticky - any chance of coming along with a couple of sunstrips (ref pm)? BTW now I realise you are not a Scooby owner I am intrigued about your motor - maybe a Ford Mexico .
