JWS.. Thanks for the update mate, and for the offer of payment....

(A general comment)

We've always operated on a non-deposit basis as that's easy for everybody, allows plenty of flexibility & is good news for those attending as they don't have to worry about getting cheques or cash to people they don't know...

Problem is, there's no incentive for people to confirm. Again, great news as people can come and go, which is good; If we have a decent waiting list, which we don't this time...

We'll probably be moving to deposit based entries next time as one of our members has forked out a sizeable deposit and we don't want to see him or anyone else out of pocket if we don't get the numbers..

Anyway, I appreciate your (and the others who've offered) kind offer. If the numbers stay as they are, then paying won't be necessary. But if we loose a few more, then I may have to take you up on that offer..

Cheers mate...

Like wot Sticky said.........I'll be heading down the M606 from the A650 at 6:50am ish (Does that time really exist?) with a slight detour for a pickup.
Failing that you may well catch up & pass me dawdling along the M62

Alan

Sorry for the late notice mate, but I am going to have to pull out of the track day fun tomorrow.

A couple of reasons:

1/ Clearing my house out of belongings as it is being put up for rent in the next few weeks.

2/ Scoob is going to a new home next week so not fair to cane it round a track.

If you want me to pay for the day (as its late notice) just let me know.

Once again, sorry!!!

Catch ya later.

Si

Many thanks to all those who turned up. I think everyone enjoyed it, and blew away a few cobwebs...

I know there were a few 'moments' and I hope they didn't spoil anyone's day..

The club may be looking at setting this up this 3 times a year.. deposit up front all in for about £35-40 for a max of 30 cars giving everyone plenty of time on track.

Lookout here for details of the next event..

Again, thaks to Dave for arranging it.. (well, starting it off and dropping it on me to sort out the tough bits! )

Si, just caught your post ...

You need a new watch mate.. the event was today..

Thanks for the offer of paying mate, I would have taken you up on your offer but I had you down as a no show anyway as you hadn't been in contact for some time on the site and I knew you were possibly selling the motor......

See you a week Thursday?

Al, well done for picking up the reins and running with this. I think I speak for everyone in saying that you did a top job on the day, and have earned your 'Deputy Events Sec.' badge.

Serious thanks for giving up some of your own tracktime to do the organising, and well done to the lad for his token watching. Cheers mate.

Had a brilliant time, enjoyed it even more than the last one, despite killing a pair of 18" (ouch!) tyres this time.

Shame it didn't rain a bit more

Thanks to all who attended, if you enjoyed it anywhere near as much as me, then you'll be back for more, I'm sure.

Special thanks to JWS and mate for the 'camera car' session.

Top results, I'll post a pic when I get the DV footage dumped. Now where's that Firewire cable...

I know we have all enjoyed the last to rally drive days, but the track was in even worse condition this time than last. And based on the state of several peoples tyres including my own, would we be better lokking for a kinder track surface for the next events even if it costs abit more?

What do you all think.

Mick, I think that's a good idea to float.

I heard a few comments about 'knowing the track' and therefore some of the challenge going out of it.

Maybe we could look at doing an 'on-off' between a few different tracks. This would save us getting a little bored.

I think the surface was no worse than last time, and a smoother surface would be just as demanding on tyres due to the higher speeds involved..

Looking forward to hearing a few comments and suggestions..

Hi Alan, Like to add my thanks for the effort and work you put into making the day run smoothly unlike my tyres, (must bring a spare set next time), just a comment on track day tyre wear, most motor racing circuits ie Croft, Oulton Park etc are far kinder on tyres as the surface is not airfield grade tarmac and is specifically designed for grip (not rip), still had a great day and thanks again.

Pete (Blue WRX brother with non raced S4)

PS Anybody put video or photos on line yet

Dazza's put a few pics up here... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...38#post3753838
I've got some footage, but it needs editing, and I can't host it. I'll let everyone know when it's available and burn a DVD / CD for whoever wants one.

Could do with more DV footage if anyone has any before I start editing.

PM me fro an address if you can send me a tape (MiniDV) or a DVD / CD (Will be returned, of course )

Sticky

I got some footage, including your big stylie fun at the hairpin with me tucked up behind - might be of value as fill in material.

Problem is that camera is not mine - so I will need to chase getting a copy. Do you have a means of converting tape to digital?
