I would be tempted to push the budget for this car... thanks

Bora's are nice my brothers got a TDI and even that is pretty nippy. I want a practical 4X4 ideally and estate with q-car and "Bloody 'ell the rest of the boys (scumbags) are gonna well take the **** if I nick that!" status. Its got good potential to tune and is dirt cheap to buy. Same mechanical parts as a VW or Audi...trust me I've been doing pure research into it. Check out my Thread on BRISKODA in the 'Octavia section'. My Username on that website is Aaquil as well (My real name that is). The Octavia VRS is not 4X4 but the 1.8T Elegance is (Saloon or Estate). If you get such a car that is subtle I assume you are gonna tune it a bit anyway?

I mentioned the Bora to a friend at work who was looking to change his car earlier in the year ... one week later he turned up in a nearly-new Bora 150 TDI.

There are ways of making a scoob look quite subtle...
Buy an original '95/'96/'97 STi type RA in original condition, i.e. no spoilers, basic trim etc. If you are willing to bide your time and shop about you should be able to pick a good one up for say around £7k.
Then with the £1k you've got left get a front mount intercooler kit and a bonnet from an impreza sport... chop in the gold alloys for something a little plainer (simple 5-spoke silver alloys or something), should get a like-for-like swop... hey presto one supremely subtle impreza, no spoilers or scoop or anything yet she'll run rings around pretty much any standard impreza!!!
