Lets just say it gives my left hook that extra 'bang'.
It should be advertised as a divers watch, you wouldnt have to wear all those weights to make you sink to the bottom, just follow your wrist.....

Is that Tag a quartz movement ? If so, it would be a no-go for me. I wouldn't pay anything over £100 for a quartz watch. If you're getting into the £1.5k region it simply must be a hand made mechanical movement. For me it's like the difference between a Ferrari and a Corsa. They both take you from A to B, are both capable of breaking every speed limit in the land and are fundamentally exactly the same product, except the Corsa will be more reliable (like a quartz watch). But if you're spending £100k+ you want to know that it's been lovingly hand assembled by craftsmen with pride and passion, not mass produced by robots to a miniscule cost.
Oh, and I just had a quick look on the Argos site. There's quite a few Pulsar/Accurist/Sekonda etc with the mixed analogue/digital face for under £100

Ta for looking at Argos for me Dave. Is that your impression of me? You'll be suggesting that my dayglo socks came from the closing down sale at C&A next...
Incidentally, I've already got a few cheaper/mid-priced quartz jobbies anyway...

One of my favourites. 1999 Chopard Mille Miglia. Made to comemorate the resumption of the classic Italian road race after a lengthy absence following many deaths. The strap replicates the Dunlop tread pattern of the 50's cars and the dial emulate the dash of the successful Alfa Romeo cars. If you can find one, it might just fall into your price bracket. If you like it that is.

With a spare grand in my pocket, I would buy one of these...actually I wouldnt because she has put a ban on watch buying, but you know what I mean.
Ebay Item Numbers:_
4917198843 or 4917588844
Both brilliant in different ways, but both A1 condition and authentic.
The vintage one is a jem, a work of art. The professional SuperOcean a engineering masterpiece.......
Hellium release valve and waterPROOF to 5000ft/1524M, thats watch engineering for you.
Hmmm, part exchange he says.......

I think we have decided that the Tag is too expensive.(Or at lease I have)
The ChaseDurer is too big.
And Poljot are excellent, but too cheap
How Harry feels, we dont know, is he or isnt he going ahead with his purchase ?

I couldn't tempt you with the Chopard then Go on, go find one and have a look. Its beauty and mechanical precision will win you over. And remember, you might not want to drive the Mille Miglia, but with that watch on your wrist you know you COULD

Anyway Dave - is the 'mechanical precision' you're talking about similar to running a Morris Minor with a carb and distributor????

I've seen them as low as $1750. When you consider the E/R at the mo' it makes for a good price. Of course, Import Thievery and Value Added Thievery add to that, but it would be cheaper to have a cheap flight week in the US and simply wear it back on the plane That one that belonged to Elton would make one serious investment I think. He ain't getting any younger and when he pops it it will probably become more collectable. Ask Steve Chaps opinion on celebrity collectable values.

The 007 seamasters are nice but the market is flooded with repro's of it Same as the snoopy speedmasters. Quite rare in themeslves but thousands more bloody fakes around that are a very good match, ruined the watch for me.
