All these designer "bling" brands are the choice of the post teen Chav. The 25yr old that HAS to have a designer label. That to me is Chav.

So they are 'Chav' and 'Tosser'!!

Each to their own I suppose.

Personally I would rather have an Armani suit than a £150 one from Next which is going to fall to bits in six months. As long as you dont wear it with the label outside, it make you feel good, and it lasts, then it is good value for money.

Chav or not, I dont really give a monkeys.

Quality brands are fine. It's the external advertising which is repugnant, imo.

Owning an Armani suit is not Chav.

Adverstising you have one is however.

Rule of thumb for labels becoming chav :

Are there cheap fake copies for sale at your local market/boat sale?

If so its reached the chav threshhold.

Gieves and Hawkes suit from Saville Row, Lobbs or
Church's shoes, hand made shirt, tie and hat all from Jermyn St, Rolex and
Mont Blanc accessories from Burlington Arcade. A true chap not chav!

For the price of an Armani suit, I'd rather have a suit made bespoke by a tailor.

BTW someone on here reckoned Armani suits are made in the same factory as M&S Italian Collection.

I think it's more to do with how the clothes are worn rather than what they are (with the exception of Burberry)

eg ; Henri Lloyd jumper on top of Lacoste Polo shirt with collar stuck up, combined with short greasy hair brushed forward to create a perfectly horizontal fringe that pokes from underneath a Burberry or NY Yankees Baseball cap.

Any designer clothes with big logo on the outside is sad... I see all chavs around Kingstanding near Birmingham with designer t shirts with shell suits and trainers on, oh, and burberry baseball cap. It's like their uniform.

Hang on, so Lambretta isn't quite Chav, but Stone Island is!!

Have to differ on that one I am afraid.

What about CP Company or anything else by Massimo Osti, is that also Chav?
