So, apart from the odd irrational freak who believe that we should be TAXED for local services rather than all pay the same, we 're all agreeing that the poll tax was actually a good thing, but poorly implemented.

I think that about sums it up. If the Tories get in (making myself laugh now with writing that) and they do introduce poll tax again let's just hope they have learned from the mess they made of it last time.
