Fit a decent tow point as well to get you out of the gravel traps

Nurburgring. Completed 2 visits. 3rd trip is next month for 4 days.

Went along on a track day with a friend, enjoyed it though looking back, I prefer to spend my money going to the 'Ring. Track days don't excite me but the 'Ring certainly does.

1. Driver upgrade
2. Brakes
3. Suspension
4. Tyres
5. Power

In my humble opinion. Do you still drive like a girl (no offense Lynn) Dave?

Have a read of the latest Autocar mag - Lichfield Impreza comes out at no. 2 in top 20 track day motors - might give you some ideas.

4WD is boring on a track day. Nice car as it is - I just think 4WD on a track car is wrong.

Mind you, I'd probably write it off before I got to T13

Some tuition will get you going quickly and safely but I would say the only things you really need are uprated brakes (two-piece discs, hot pads and fresh fluid) because you'll wreck the OEM ones, and a set of well-worn tyres as you'll smoke a new set to oblivion.

These will make you quicker, safer, and save a lot of money.

Anything else will shave a second here and there, but not much more.

Richard.

Maybe you should just go on the track with the car just as it is so you can get used to the idea. Just take it easy to begin with and work your way up at a sensible rate. Its far cheaper to do it like that and less wearing. You have the psychological advantage that your lesser speed initally is partly due to the car and you will soon learn what you need to do to wind things up a bit.

There is a lot more to driving on a track than meets the eye but very satisfying when you have cracked it.

Les
