NTL IS running slow in some areas because of the upgrade work they are doing. When NTL went ****e last year I changed the proxy to another one and it made no difference at all. The upgrades will be complete(for set top and modem users) in September, so get used to it.
Their email is an absolute pile of spunk though, takes ten minutes to get into my mailbox.
Remove the spyware and pages will load quicker, it won't download any quicker.
Format always helps. But not needed.
