Simon,

Ordered 2x5L PRO-S 5w-40 Monday. Arrived Tuesday and left as requested.
Will go in at next service in a couple of weeks (to replace Mobil 1 0w-40).
Many thanks for great service.

Diccy.

Not as such but could ask the question.

Am intrigued to know why you need this though? Do you work for an oil company?

Simon,

Apart from changing oil no connection with oil industry.

This iInformation on most oils is freely available.

Re additives Synlube use a complety synthetic package, any idea what this could comprise?

Hopefully this will be of use here.

The recommendations below are for unmodded roadgoing cars, you need to take other factors into account if you are doung track days or have modded your car, but this is a good starting point.

OEM Quotes the following oils

Impreza 1.6i, 1.8i (4WD) 1993-96 10w-40 / 10w-50

Impreza 1.6 (4WD) 2000 onwards 5w-30 / 5w-40

Impreza 2.0i Sport 1996-00 5w-40 / 10w-40 / 10w-50

Impreza 2.0 (4WD) 2000 onwards 5w-30 / 5w-40

Impreza 2.0i Turbo (4WD) 1994-00 5w-40

Impreza 2.0i WRX/STi Turbo (4WD) 2001 onwards 5w-40

Impreza 2.0 Turbo (4WD) 2000 onwards 5w-40

Impreza 2.5i (4WD) 2001 onwards 5w-40

Cheers

I wouldn't recommend putting 5W anything in a Subaru Turbo despite what IM or Fuji say.

It needs to be at least 10W in my opinion.

That may be true and indeed we normally recommend 10w-50 for modded or cars used for trackdays but I was stating what it would recommend in the handbook.
