Red face

Sonic, Unfortunatly Martin had to pull his entry as his rebuilt engine was still poorly, so he volunteered to help service me. Cheers Martin

Talking

Hope you all had a good day on Saturday. Sorry we didn't get to see you, we were on the hairpin sector at the far end of the course. Quite a bit of action, a cossie went to handbrake round the bend and its wheel went the opposite way! But it still had two bolts intact on the wheel so were able to get a jack out of the car and get him going again. An escort MkII broke down twice but the guy working on radio control fixed his blown fuse with metallic paper out of a *** packet (twice!). There were a few other breakdowns, a collision and some bits falling off a few cars.

Highlight of the day: I won the first prize in the marshall's raffle and got a (very) high speed drive round the course with John Price (the overall winner) in his Metro 6R4 - absolutely awesome drive! I was hoping the scoobie would win so I could go in that, but I never thought I'd ever get a drive in a 6R4 so it was an incredible experience.

Did anyboy else get photos? The battery in my camera died so I couldn't get any shots of the scoobies going round the hairpin. Brilliant day though!

What engines are in those 6r4's then and what sorta power they got?
I have to say they did look pretty mean but the ex WRC Impreza (Bill Gwynne Motorsport) sounded the best though!!
Adge, were you driving the white Impreza then with the no plate to match?

6r4's originally had a 3.0 litre V6 but I think, 2.5, 2.8 and 3.5 litre have been fitted. Power probably 250-450 depending on spec. Yes it was me in the white impreza with number plate.
