class

so in theory, not having bored the block to 2.33, it would be stronger, or am i missing the point entirely?
Good question.. and one that we dont know the answer to.. subaru engines are chocolate.. fact!

Carefull attention to detail.. may make them last but not at over 500bhp.. no matter what people say.. they simply are not going to last..

I suppose reliability comes depending on how you make you power.. I dont know how in cylinder pressures compare with same power at different revs..

Conrod loadings will cause it to fail pretty quick if I decide to rev to 9k..

Bigger bore and shorter stroke may have been safer.. who knows.. I dont. dont have the money or time to do major R&D, but then who does.

cheers david

but what made you decide to go for that partcular capacity then? something must have seemed right to you, to go that large(from a 2litre i mean)? and did it not come across your mind, it could make it too weak?

obviously, it's fine and i know it's one of those "you don't know till you try" things, but........it sounds scary to me!lol
