I must be one of the very few happy with the Helix catch can then! Although I don't have a Scooby, hopefully I have hooked it up correctly - crankcase breather to can, can to PCV valve with T off to cam cover breather. I 'just' had enough hose to fit it!

The VAG 1.8T engine has 19mm connectors, so I had to get a few adapters, but it's all on and everything seems to be working fine. Thanks for letting me in on the GB.

Here's my car BTW at the F&M show in Aberdeen:

glad you were happy, but to be honest I feel a bit let down, parts missing, product not as described, missing parts still not delivered & no instructions

Guess I was suckered in.

faith in scoobynet Group buys = 0

last time I'll get involved, complete crap imho

To be honest I emailed Scott and he kept me infomed and sent me the parts I was missing - still I would have liked some instructions

the cars booked in at RCM for a oil change and fitting the tank - if they can't do it I don't know who could, will be interesting to see what they say about the kit

3 inputs and i output is easy to achieve. Drill and tap the can to accept the two spare nipples. Use the 2 smaller ones for the two cam covers and one of the larger ones for the crank...... the last one could have a pipe back to the intake or just a K+N breather fitted.

As for them calling it crap.... the only cans i've seen with 4 in/outputs have been on WRC/GRP A cars. No off the shelf can (Greddy/Cusco/AH Fabs etc) i've sen have 4, 3 tops. I certainly don't think the can is crap... much better than say Cusco. Just got to think about the fitting. A few very high power cars have these fitted without problems... just see David Wallis and Steve Darley (P20 SPD).

Tony.

This system is certainly not crap, for an off the shelf catch can. Having had a couple, this is the best one i have had.

Having seen an RCMS sourced catch can, it looks good, has the ports, but probably cost 3 times what this costs, plus labour.

Mine has worked flawlessly since fitting, and the fitting took a few alterations and it was fine. These are generic catch cans, and not specifically made for subarus.

Instructions for suitable use.

On the opposite side to where the 2 default ports go, drill another hole big enough to accept one the spare threaded couplers. Insert and secure one spare port into the new hole.

Fill the can with a loose scouring pad (kitchen ones), not the piece of fluff it arrives with.

Plumb your 2 cam breathers together via a t piece and secure to one of the standard ports on the can.

Plumb your crank breather to the other standard port on the can.

Then fit either a cam breather filter (from say halfords) to the newly created port, or run another pipe from there, down to the ARB and secure.

Having fitted one of these yesterday for a friend, it should take no more than an hour tops to install, depending on the neatness fo the job.

You may be able to get an idea from this picture. Right hand side nearest headlight.

Can installed, 2 pipes in (1 for crank and 1 for the cams), and then a cam filter on the newly created port.

Hi,
You can get all the extra T's, hose, clams you might want from B&Q for not much money.

Are you sure you need the small ones though? I have used 15mm hose on the whole system to ensure free flow of pressure.

Glad to see that some people are happy with their purchase

Tim
