Just my 2p's worth.

As for the decision, there's been dodgy decisions all tournament with penalties disallowed and incorrect decisions. IMHO, England should have done more than wait til the last minute. Rooney didn't do much even before he got injured and if the teams lost without one player then English football is in a worse state than I thought.

The Czechs made 9 changes and still put the Germans out.

Bloody hell mate, you *do* like to labour a point. My opinion is that it would have been conclusive. I'm not looking for black and white "correct"/"incorrect". We're NOT going to change the outcome now, are we?

Sorry, just finding all this media & SN talk about how England had "won" the match, quite frankly, laughable. There was still time remaining even if the goal had stood.

The evidence is there for all to see in the France game. 2 goals got banged in against England in the final minute or two.

I honestly cant see how people say England were robbed. Terry blatantly obstructed the Goalie, am I the only one who seen this ?

Not getting at you TB. Just the "media" If I was watching a ManU v Arsenal game, I'd expect the BBC to show no bias in their presentation

Great comeback

Half Czech m8, so I'm only a watered-down bitter Scot

You're better supporting a proper team.

Personally i don't think he could have moved from where he was even if he'd tried.

More importantly, he had every right to be standing where he was, no? The only point of contention, imo, is whether his left arm on the goalie was a deliberate impediment. I reckon the decision to disallow the goal on that basis was very harsh at best.

Had the roles been reversed (ie, the ref disallowed a portugal goal), his "bad decision" would have been swept under the carpet by the media

It goes both ways. England were unlucky to have a decision against them, but that's how it is.

Why don't they have video refs like rugby union, rugby league, cricket, etc?
Makes sense to everyone, so why not?????

Simple fact his arm was over the Goalie, regardless if he could have moved or not. He still stopped the goalie from reaching the ball.

Possibly. But i for one *openly* admit the Germans were robbed of a penalty the other night against the Czechs. And i *hate* that sort of injustice.

So yes, i agree with your suggestion - i can't see why video can't be used. "Interrupting the flow of the game" is the only argument i've ever heard against it. Why football is so different though i've never quite worked out....

Yeah, seems a weak excuse. Especially if you only use the video ref for penalty decisions or goal decisions - not many of them in a game, so wouldn't affect the flow....surely??
