I'm no toon fan, but Dyer does tend to run a little hot and cold - electrifying some days, electrocuted the others !!!

I'm a geordie and I reckon Dyer should have at least brought on as a sub against Portugal, I did laugh though when good old 'Mottie' was discussing the reasons for bringing on Neville & Hargreaves saying they offer the best 'legs' to last the match... Dyer covers more grass on the pitch than most when he's fully fit. He would have definately offered more attacking wise than Beckham who was C R A P. Scholes & Gerrard both looked knackered against Portugal, what's the point in having players like Dyer, Cole, Bridge in the squad if Sven has no intention of playing them

I do think though that Dyer is too inconsistent and injury prone, he hasn't progressed to the next level he should of like Gerrard & Lampard have.
