Can I be your friend too?
Scott,

lol..... it appears that us WR1 owners are a sensitive bunch and get wound up pretty quick
If I was bored (which I always seem to be at work) I would also bait a WR1 owner and have a laugh at their OTT responses, an opinion of a car is only an opinion at the end of the day
It's someones new car and like all new things people don't like to hear somebody slating their pride & joy, I was unlucky enough to own a crossfire when clarkson equated it to a dog taking a **** but I still kept it (till I got the Scooby ).
A couple of users on here seem to push things to the extreme (you know who you are), which is up to them, but after a while it becomes obvious they are just wind up merchants. So I suppose the best thing to do if you are easily wound up or offended is not to rise to the bait
