Should cat owners be legally responsible for thier pets actions?
#121
Humans cause damage to property
Humans cause damage to indigenous wildlife
Humans present a health risk to all other animals
They should not be allowed out of the house
Care to elaborate?
I expect overall they bring a lot more hapiness and comfort to the human race than the health risk and suffering you are obsessed with.
They are known to assist with stress relief (hey maybe you should get a few) and are used to help seriously ill kids and all sorts of people for things such as depression, lonliness etc.
Odd that the health service use them if they're such dirty disease mongerers

Fact: people's cats defacate in my garden
The fact that dogs, birds and foxes produce excrement does not change this fact.

This may or may not be true, but it isn't relevant to this debate. This debate is about cats.

I find it disturbing that 54% of people on here (Jye's aliases and office colleagues aside ) are so unreasonable as to believe that they should in no way be responsible for the actions of their own pet.
Its disgraceful.

Rather than me mis-interpreting your post, it seems you've made a rather silly statement ajm
Following on from RedKop's question, have you made any moves to have the laws modified or clarified?

For me it entails:-

- Paw marks/scratches on cars
- Killed/missing pets, fish etc.

cats don't scratch cars and the paw marks are just dust that wash off. Me thinks you're clutching.
they don't **** on lawns. they go for earth
they will scratch wooden fences n stuff but usually only in their own territory

There are health issues actually as ajm mentioned a few pages back. Do a search for toxoplasma gondii cysts - doesn't make for pleasant reading.
Having said that, I've never come across any of the related problems before, personally.

If you cannot put a case together against those facts then I'm afraid you are in way over your head in this thread.

If you want me to take your point of view seriously you are going to have to cease being so presumtious as to tell me what damage I have and havn't had.
The health issues are well documented. Look them up. If you have any further questions then come back to me.

BTW my two 'aliases' in the office are laughing now too, it's pity you find the vote hard to take in
I think what this thread really shows, even though you find it so hard to believe, is that you and OllyK, and perhaps Tel, are the only ones on SN atm who share the same opinions regarding cat ownership

AJM and OllyK you really do take the award for the most ridiculous discussions I have ever seen on this forum.
Your two man capaign is going to get a long way I can see
Bird **** is well known to potentially carry very harmfull bacteria, as does fox ****. I tell you what while your so upset about animals poohing in your garden why don't you add all species of wildlife to your campaign
The easy answer here is to totally enclose your garden
Oh and OllyK to say because your dog can not get out of your garden a fox can not get in is absurd LMFAO
Foxes can jump up garden fences as easily as cats can, I have seen them do it plenty of times.
I enjoy having wildlife in the garden, even if it *****. You go out and clear it up if you are going to let children play on the ground. What makes me laugh on this as well is that you seem to think that if the garden is clear from animal droppings its going to be perfectly safe for babies/children to play on You think that beacause there is no animal **** on your garden there arnt plenty of harmful germs and bacteria just sitting in the earth? LOL you really do want to wake up and realise your argument is nothing less than pathetic

Maybe it was another creature that shat on your lawn then?
Did the paw prints wash off?
I can't take it too seriously because I get this feeling that even if your house fell down there would be some cat related reason for it
