I've been told there's still delays in getting them out to dealers
I've heard that also.

Given that don't intend to order till the end of the first week in Aug I'm hopeing they'll have sorted out the backlog

speaking to the guys to give me a definate price tomorrow.

Appatently the warentee stuff is done when you fillout the registration card in the box.

Put it down as a "gift" - no reciept- and they'll send you all the documentation you need to get going - inc warentee information.

I'll still put in a hand written reciept for you to show you for it from me.

Will the new law that's coming in not make the new road angel illegal?

It's a knee-jerk reaction to laser detectors / jammers AFAIK - GPS, which the road angel uses, is passive / received info only and cannot alter any transmitted signal (laser / radar gun etc)

They have also mentioned GPS units are ok..

All dealers selling the Road angel are pretty confident that it will be ok..but i guess we have to wait and see...

been on to Road Angel about the new law that's coming in ,this is there reply

Hi Jason

Firstly, please rest assured Road Angel is fine.

Thursday and Friday were quite exciting for us! Since we launched in 2002 there has been constant speculation surrounding the ‘radar’ detector market. This was started by a court case between the DTi (Department for Trade and Industry) and a radar detector manufacturer. The case, which is still ongoing, was not based upon the use of the product but the fact that the huge emissions from some radar detectors interfere with other devices – in their case Sky Satellite boxes!

Following this investigation, the DfT (Department for Transport) wish to ‘clear-up’ the industry at the same time.

Our understanding is "The Department for Transport is looking at ways to outlaw these systems because it believes they interfere electronically with the operation of speed cameras".

Whilst GPS devices are approved there is some confusion over laser, brought on by the use of diffusers and jammers. As you know, Laser detection is passive and does not interfere with any police devices.

Road Angel has no emissions and is fully Vehicle Conformity Approved.

I hope this answers your questions and would have no issues surrounding the purchase of a new road angel.

Best Regards

Dave Clark

/me hangs head in shame

The someone high up @ Road Angle is not happy to go ahead with this "off the books" which would have got us the low price.

I'm really sorry for wasting people time on this.

Why the hell he didn't way that from the word go is beyond me. Some people eh.

I'll try and talk to somone about doing it legitamately and see how it pans out.

Appologies again.
