My girlfriend doesn't even own a PC - I find it's refreshing to totally get away from 'puters after spending all day working with them.

Nicci, you should have come and knocked for me and taken me to the scooby meet! Bit of French clutter goes down well with the boys (Clio Cup)......

Clare,

Maybe next time (don't know if going with another girl makes it more likely for me to be 'allowed' to go to a meet).

Disagree there lmf - my misses breaks the rulebook

For once I have little to moan about this week-end Wife & sprog were away on Friday night, so beer & 'puter & TV 'til 01:30

Up @ 10:00 & after a bit of housework it was garden all day until 16:30 when they turned up. She was a) happy with housework done & b) with gardening done.

Nephew over for bbq supper then on Sunday she went off shopping & it was gardening all day

This is in stark contrast to last week-end when she had major PMT & a cobb on

& also in stark contrast to w/end coming up

Friday is sprog's 5th b/day which in itself is great. Afternoon being familly

Saturday is party for 25 kids Wife is stress bunny so its already getting heavy on the organisational front Not helped by wife with over generous nature towards sprog plus grand (££) ideas

She's just dropped on me that we're driving 75+ miles to Gt. Yarmouth on the Sunday to visit Pleasurewood Hills "as a birthday treat" taking Ez & a small friend. FFS Not impressed Last time we went there, she spent the whole time worrying about danger from the rides - she's a PI lawyer & see's danger in EVERYTHING

Result of above last year was that we argued on the way there, whilst there & on the way back. Joy oh joy

PTMW, if you like danger and stress with kids, take three mental boys age 5,6 and 8 round Conway castle, its death on a stick !

I don't necessarilly but disagree totally with wifey's cotton wool approach. Last thing I want is a child of mine that is a reflection (plus plus) on today's namby pamby society. Wife is the epitomy of it

For instance, Pleasurewood has a "Pirate Ship" which is a swinging boat. When we went last year I got a) a bollocking for allowing Ez & her friend to go on there with me b) for allowing Ez to wave @ mummy (thus not holding onto safety rail).

Now call me stupid but that is not ever the most dangerous of rides, Daddy was there (holding onto them) and there's a massive safety bar

The problem is that wifey's anxiety is getting passed onto sprog by not letting her do things other kids do and also moaning at daddy when he tries to do as other dads do with their kids.

PS

One reason I'm not divorced is that I couldn't let my daughter become a complete neurotic due to her mother's behaviour.
