Top Gear

Anyone notice they missed out deciding where the GT3RS should go on the cool board. It was in JCs hand and then when they came back to him it was in "Cool".
I quite like the Top Gear format, different to the others, more of the stuff I would probably end up doing with test cars if me and a few mates had a chance to do anything we wanted with them and enjoy ourselves .....if I need serious info on a car I am looking at buying I generally wouldn't rely on a TV journalists view anyway, there are many more ways of finding out info: internet, magazines and of course going and driving them yourself.

personally i quite like top gear as it is now, i like to sit down and have a laugh and be entertained, rather than dozing off listening to someone describing the texture of the plastic of the dash or how clever the sat nav is.zzzzzzzzzzzz.
each to their own and i don't doubt there's a fair few factual car programmes on sky to please the techies?

I thought the footage of the Jag et al on the sands was some of the most stunning tv i have seen in ages - the programme might be cr4p but that was fantastic viewing.

I think the format's great - its an hour long with no ad's and doesnt get boring imo - I love the photography, and as has been said its a better than having a full-on techie road test of everything.
Would be good if they got tiff back on it, other than being a great driver he always has an interesting opinion.

Top Gear is ace. OK, maybe it can be a little inconsistent and even sometimes pointless (Golf on a driving range), but what programme is always perfect? The missus even likes it now - she was chuffed that the Focus was recommended above the new Golf, Vectra and Mazda 3, especially as she bought one last Saturday.
I find it good quality, British entertainment. Local Dutch tv (which is a series behind) bills it as the Best Motoring Programme in the World. I agree.

An entertainment program of sorts it maybe but a program about the pro's and con's of cars and motoring issues it is not.
Serious magazines have fully tested cars with panels of Jurno's and rated them highly and TopGear will dismiss them because Jeremy doesn't like the carpets.
Take this weeks program, the MGZT260 was trounced because JC doesn't like MGR and Jezer thinks it has a fire surround grill. All the Mags love the car and in AutoCar it's even won a group test which included the BMW 330Ci, Scooby STi and Evo. The car is selling for £19995 at the dealers not the £33k Mr Clarson said, you would have to tick every option box to get up to that price.
Jezer slated it on track yet it's time was faster than the Maserati Coupe and Ferrari 575.
The program is about Mr Clarksons Ego and nothing more.
