Just binned my very expensive PIAA bulbs - which fell apart as I removed them (pins welded to plug!)I thought I was going blind, had faith in PIAA as I've used them for rallying and my "PIAA" fogs are excellent with only cheap 55W bulbs. Fitted Phillips VisionPlus bulbs 60/55W. Hope they are as good as you all say or maybe I am going blind. I suggest people steer clear of high Wattage bulbs, on other vehicles I've had horrible results, a cooked wiring-loom will never stop giving problems.

I got a pair of vision superwhite h4's from
a mail order company. These bulbs were imported from the far east. The performance is great, almost the same as the piaa plasma
blues but at a fraction of the price.
Are the side lights available in superwhites ?

OK My PIAA EWC blah blah superwhite bulb has just blown (after 3 months, what a waste of time)

So now I'm on 1 x PIAA and 1 x Normal which is crap. PIAA was great, but 3 months use !!! for £45 a pair !

I use Halfords 100/80's and they seem pretty good.

I have just had a PIAA Superwhte blow after 3 months as well. I was told by the shop I bought them from that the bulbs are under a 90 day guarantee but it is a strict date. If the bulb is over that then if you send it back to PIAA they will lok at it and if it is faulty they will replace it. Mine is going back this week.

Cool

I have used 80/100 watt bulbs in a MY 97 for all its life without problems re wiring overheating etc. Much better.
A mate used 90/130 watt for 12 months without problems & left them in the car when he sold it.

Red face

Have to say that I have had my faith in PIAA somewhat shaken as well. I had a Superwhite bulb blow after about three months. This was returned to PIAA who did replace it. I mentioned at the time to them that it isn't a good idea to replace one bulb at a time (slighty different voltages etc etc) - "don't worry sir, it'll be fine, came the reply". And guess what? Two weeks later, the other blew, which was also replaced. A couple of months ago, another blew - so now I've given up. I'm back using Halford bulbs at the moment, but I think I will try some of the ones recommended here.

Kenny you can get the PIAA Superwhite sidelights - about £8 a pair (haven't had any problems with these blowing ). I've also noticed that Halfords have started doing 'extra white' side lights aswell.
