- "my mate might be interested in this/that/whatever...I'll get him to call you"
- "thats way overpriced imo" (says the dealer posing as a private buyer)
- "if I can sell mine I will be in touch"

Not wishing to drag this off topic but I prefer to use cheap glasses and spend the savings on the stuff to fill them with.

I reckon my glasses take about a 40% casualty hit over a year, so I can't afford to get all precious about the vessels I use for the 'degustation' of my wine.

the other day i bought 6 glasses from habitat - about £2.50 each. they are really quite nice, so i hardly every bother to use the "posh" ones anymore. i do think a nicely shaped and balanced glass does add a bit to the experience, though.

Magazine X states the Impreza is the bestest, fastest most desirable thing on the planet. Owners believe it.

Magazine Y states the Impreza is not the bestest, fastest most desirable thing on the planet. Owners become outraged, letters to magazine, what a load of b0llox etc etc

I've got an Impreza xyz with a backbox. How much power have I got?
I've got an Impreza xyz. How fast will it be down the 1/4. How much faster will it be with a backbox.

And my fave

I raced an SL55 Mercedes today - I thought they were supposed to be fast? We both definitely were going for it because he was gesturing at me (wonder which one) and it was about the same till 60mph, then I left him for dead. I've got an Impreza xyz with a backbox, is that good? How much power do you think I've got? etc etc

Followed by loads of posts of:

You'd do him in the twisties
Mercedes aren't that fast
They don't handle very well

Above applies of course to any fast Ferrari, Porsche etc.

I got a parking dent in Tescos today
followed by 12 pages of sympathy

I overtook a Porsche Turbo and he was trying his hardest at the 'Ring (oops sorry, that's 205 owners )

Could've had him in the twisties ......... No you couldn't.

Beat an SL55 who was really trying ......... No you didn't

Beat a Hayabusa ........... No you didn't.. not even in the twisties when it was raining

Beat a motorbike and he/she was definitely trying ....... unlikely

Nobles are sh1te ....... No they're not ....... this, coming from someone who's bought an Impreza. <snigger>

Clio 172 kept up, is my car down on power ....... Nope, they'll keep up anytime, even in the twisties.

I was at the Ring in my 1.9 Trabant and overtook an Enzo, who was definitely trying. Followed by some it's all about the driver cr4p

It was only my third lap of the Ring, but I know it all now, and overtook blah blah blah

Scooby In A Lake (SIAL) Who gives a ****.

Subarus are the best all round cars in the world ..... errr whatever.

BMW drivers are all t0ssers ........ Not all of them, but I will admit to a swift one off the wrist occasionally.

Matt
