Finally fitted the gas pedal!!! ...after enlarging the hole with a drill.

Can someone enlighten me to what the hell I do with that black plastic bit.

I could not see what the purpose of the black plastic bit was for? but clipped it into place as per instructions.

Simon had some sent to him but they were the wrong colour

 

New replcement ones arrived late this afternoon and will be sending them off to you all tomorrow!

Hi Jim,

did you have to drill slightly bigger holes on the gas pedal in order to get the pin through? There's no way mine is going on without some slight modifications.

My "gift" from Hong Kong arrived yesterday! Lovely piece of kit - now I just need a car to fit them to! So I'm picking up the beast at the weekend - my engine builder has told me its the only turbo charged car he's ever driven that doesn't have any lag!
400+bhp 2.33litre Type R V5 Ltd awaits me after being out of action for 19 months - roll on Sunday, this has to have been the longest week of my life!!

 

A big thanks to Simon for the goodies as i believe we are all very happy with our new toys.
We will have to do business again some time.

Just a shame that all pedals weren't delivered to me in one go but it was very nice of the people to offered to wait for the 4 missing sets!

Apart from the Bling Bling effect I know the STi pedals are a great piece of kit and makes driving that little bit more special (good for a bit of heel and toe )

how do i get the old accelarator pedal off i cant get the pin out any tips it doing my head in

 

Robbie09, your old 'accelerator' pedal stays on the car (not to be removed) but pin has to be removed so that the STI pedal can be secured through the existing hole vacated by removing the old pin (need to swap it for the longer pin supplied with the pedals).

Shouldn't be too difficult? Can someone help explain how they removed the old pin as I wasn't paying too much attention to the Subaru mechanic at the time but I remember pliers and screw driver?

ive done the pedal simon the pin you supply fits through the 1 allready on they are all done now and look good but i have a round black plastic thing left looks like some sort of clip whats this for cheers kev

The plastic clip helps to secure/rests the old gas pedal after you have removed the old pin (if it is lose in anyway you need to use the clip!). It clips on at the lowest point of the gas column. just the clip slide up or down for best positioning (look in instructions it's part no. 14).

If your pedals are secure, then I wouldn't worry about adding it.
