the reason the young lads get corsas and saxos is You can insure them.


My Boy is 18 and has just bought a 6 month old Corsa ellegence 1.0 for £5750 and it costs £1200 to insure fully comp thats a group 2

Every 18 year old dreams of owning a scooby and in 5 years time they will all be driving late classics and bug eyes !!

im sure we were just the same dreaming of owning xr2/ XR3i in the eighties

and the reasons they spend hundreds on their cars is they all live at home and have nothing else to spend their money on .

you should not look down at them because they will be joining us or replacing us on this forum in a few years time.

wonder if the porsche /ferrari boys laugh at us?

But it's not only Saxo's and Corsa's. Recently I have been 'harassed' by MGZR's, an MGTF (driver 50+), a J plate RS2000 and an Audi A6 diesel ! DO other drivers consider Scoob's some kind of benchmark to 'test' their cars against ? i.e. see how fast they get left behind ?

As for "wonder if the porsche /ferrari boys laugh at us?" yes, probably. Right up until they find out they can't get away that easily on a country road.

Spot on.... had a run in with a corsa the other day and foot to the floor i only inched away . Didn't make me feel to good, went home with my tail between my legs. Don't know what he had under the bonnet... knowing my look a 1.2 with piper induction and big bore back box .
