Alright chaps,
Any chance of an ex-Scooby owner coming along to the next FB Meet?
I don't mind holding back in my old Ford (http://www.showoffyourcar.com/galleries.asp?carid=825), wouldn't want it ruining the sight of the mighty Japanese convoy

Hi mate... you're always welcome... you know that..
Escort RS Turbo... One of my all time faves.. I remember lusting after one of these for quite a while.. Ended up with Pug 205 1.9 GTI instead...
Just park under the sign.. 'Second class citizens' with Sticky..
Look forward to seeing you and hearing about that 'non standard engine' that appears in the first photo!!

WYIOC Midweek Club
Brief details of yesterdays "WYIOC Midweek Club" run out :-
Meeting at 1pm near Barnsley we eventually rendevouz'd just after the caravan. Sorry, it was a camera van, cr@p phone line and within 20 mins we were enjoying the beautiful day and all the benefits and excitement that come with Scooby ownership, sat at the roadside with the bonnet up after covering Stickys Evo in a big cloud of sh!te We quickly diagnosed that I had blown off my hose (ooherr missus ) and a running repair with the cr@ppest screwdriver in the world (Scoob toolkit ) got us then looking for a suitable place to effect a better job. Big thanks to the engineering firm on the A616 (I think) for the loan of a (slightly) better scruddie, but a big FU to the happy chaps at the car garage with the Evo outside who wouldn't help at all (you nearly got your Evo keyed you miserable tw@ts). Thankfully Dazza was on the ball and directed us to the nearest Subaru dealer and all was sorted. Sticky then took the lead and spent the next hour showing us how to get lost in Sheffield like Jim Carey trying to get out of the city in The Truman Show
We eventually found the way out (past the girl with a skirt so short you could see her bum ) and made for the pub at Ladybower for much needed refreshments and nerve calming. Our 1pm start resumed at 3pm.
Not being too familiar with the area down there, we enjoyed the Snake with its many overtaking oportunities, but the busy towns we went through (can't remember which ) were a bit dull and we must find some sneaky alternative routes in future. We eventually arrived at our goal, the Cat & Fiddle (A537) from Buxton to Congleton. what a road, superb. Thankfully my brakes seemed to hold out (just) but I could see Sticky was getting a bit impatient behind as he tried to get sideways on every bend. We decided to make it a loop taking in the just as good A54 back up to the Cat & Fiddle pub, at which point I gave Sticky the lead, never to be seen again as I got delayed behind a truck (/excuse) and both getting some air and almost inflicting bladder drainage on our passengers.
Back at the pub we sat and enjoyed the huge portions while we froze to death in the evening sun and force 8 gale, eventually retreating indoors to join the Derby & Joan club outing.
Sticky took the lead on the way home taking in such scenic delights as Longdendale, Heydon Moor and SteveChaps Catastrophe Corner We said our goodbyes at a garage near Denby Dale (I think) as Sticky filled his tanks for the 17th time that day and as we went home, they went to get the next service done (sorry, this joke really is gonna get tired soon )
Many thanks to Andy and Elouise (sp?) for a fun (and at time frantic) day out, and both Helen and myself look forward to the next where maybe we can encourage one or two others to forsake such trivia as work and family responsibilites (and soap operas ) for a day and come and be wreckless and frivilous.
CB.
PS. Andy, PMSL at the idiot in the Saxo giving us the hand at the bottom of the 537. Was really upset

Sounds like you had an eventful day out!!
Kel
Take it the Scoob sold then!! I used to have an RS Turbo. Loved it to bits. Spent ££££s on it and it really went like the stink! Only problem was it was front wheel drive! It ate gearboxes!! 2 in 3 months!! but remedied that with a Escort Van Diesel box and an LSD!!
Looking forward to seeig you mate!
Cheers

The Scooby sold to the first guy who came to view it The RS is lovely but problem with going from a Type RA to any car means that they're going to feel slow (painfully slow)
I'll let you have a good look around it and take you for a spin in the RS at the next meet - it looks better than it goes! I remember you telling me the tale about your old RS a few months back, very funny tale indeed, hehe
Looking forward to seeing you chaps and the excellent motors again.
Kel
p.s. I hear what you're saying with the gearbox - this has a diesel lsd box already fitted (i guess all tuned up RS's eat the standard box).
- i'd better shut up about the Ford, i don't want to drag ScoobyNet's reputation down

Dave - sounds like a good one. Guess you were only a couple of miles from our front door by the time Andy filled up again.....
Careful with those hoses - they're there for a reason.

Martin, thankfully it hadn't split, just blown off past the jubillee so a few awkward wrist wrenching minutes, a couple of 3rd degree burns and one truly awful screwdriver (Subaru got a deal on toolkits from Poundland ) later and I was fully mobile again. The trip to the dealers was cautionary, just to make sure it was seated right and fully tightened.
You definately don't expect it to happen Just waiting for no.3 now.
1. Flat battery
2. Blown hose
3. Nothing too serious please

Knowing the immaculate manner in which you keep your cars Dave, disaster number three will be equivalent to a speck of dust on the dashboard...

Dave, top report, saved me a bit of tryping. All you missed was a big thanks to Monty's of Sheffield for...
A) fixing the pipe on with a proper screwdriver, and
B) being impossible to get away from. Every bleedin' road had us going back there

Do you mean he lets you stand in a field all day, eating grass and sh!tting
I did thank Montys elsewhere, but I'll do it again. Many thanks guys.
