Jye can you confirm the force feedback settings ae for player.plr not gtr.plr or do you need to rename it to gtr.plr.
Also do you leave the settings alone that mention MOMO for special force feedback

H:\GTR Demo\UserData\Player player.plr or where ever you've installed GTR ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Is there a gtr.plr in the new GTR demo? I did a search for *.plr and the player.plr is the only one in the new demo afaiks. This is the new demo you're talking about Hobbsy?

Yup demo only I'm afraid. Just mis-interpreted what you put earlier. Game is spot on cant wait for the full version to come available. Been messing around with Rally Trophy recently now going to have to find time for this one.

Went to PC World (yeah I know!!) at lunchtime but they only had the next one down from the MOMO wheel ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Gonna have to order it from somewhere.
So when i gets released, who's up for a 24h race around LeMan?

2.18 - 2.20's are good times that can be achieved without much 'too' much fuss, when you realise that 2.10's (I've even seen a few 2.08's) are quite feasible it makes 2.20 look OK. Lets face it though, any time much lower than 2.18ish probably requires driving the car in such an unrealistic way that it would be completely wrecked by whacking kerbs etc or would explode. There is much 'debate' about the validity of these <2.10 times on the thread below ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=151473
Madgrip you can also download hotlaps of these sort of times at the racesimcentral forums (thread above) and then play them back in the game, so I'm afraid perhaps you just need a bit more practice m8. You can also see a few more times here:
http://www.bhmotorsports.com/competitions/gtrdemo.php
Make sure you choose soft tyres and only enough fuel for 2 laps if your bothered with hotlap times, imo its better to run consistant and controllable times as once the multiplayer aspect is open to you you will find that most online races last about 20 laps +![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
The actual fastest time for the real lister at Spa2003: 2:21., average race time 2:40. My fastest time is a low 2.18 and believe me I was going for it, GL

BTW, for keyboard heroes, times of any relevance must be without 'any' sort of driver assist (clutch help OK) enabled. I doubt 'anyone' could get near 2.20's with a keyboard with the assists off

OMG! this DEMO is feckin superb. I've never played such a realistic racer on a PC before. Sooooo much depth n detail in it. It absolutely rocks on my new box wiv radeon 9800XT, n everything maxxed and at any resolution I want, and this is a DEMO! amazing. The replays are wicked. Massive burnouts n donuts never been so satisfying. Yeh the sounds are fantastic, this is one area that always usually disappoints in racing games. I think the only game that even comes close on the sound front is the Nascar 4 onwards series. Its OK on joystick, but a wheel is definately the way to go. It isnt easy is it
I'm getting into the 2:20s atm after a few sessions, with about 10laps of fuel onboard n medium tyres.
Whats the key for the LCD mode? I havent seen the tyre temps thing in the motec display yet.

Yes Madgrip, GT (Lister) and NGT (Morgan). No wonder you cant get below 2.30 if you're using the Morgan, heh, choose it before the practice, bottom of screen, CAR

Atlast a game that finally uses the power and technology that's available!
BUT.....I'm a bit dissapointed with one thing, the visual quality of the cars.
Seeing as it's only a demo chances are it will look much better (I hope)
Jye: have you got/downloaded FIA GT X-spec.?
That micra cup is quite good don't ya think?

Leuvan what's the GT X-Spec thing you are on about ?
One feature I just spotted in the GTR demo is it remembers your skid marks between games. With the number I create I will be out of disk space pretty quickly, unless they get washed sway by the rain

No I havent seen that yet LUEVEN, you dont have a good link for it do you?
tbo I thought the cars look ok both inside and in replay mode, deffo better than the original. fwiw I'm running GTR at 1280 X 1024 2XAA and 8 XAF with all the texture sliders to quality with a Radeon 9800 XT, XP 3200 combo.

It's not that the graphics are 'bad', it just seems that they don't look as good as the rest of whats on screen when looking from behind the car compared to the track/scenery etc.and as if it were made from less polygons.
I was using the demo in 1024x768 and AA forced off (which would explain the jagged edges on the car
) so i'll try it @1280x1024 with AA on.
The reason I was asking about X-spec was because I could only find it at: http://www.xzibitaprojects.net/right.html
but download is very slow and wanted to see if you had it and knew where to get it.

It's here if it's of any help. http://www.f1simlinks.net/mods/f1c_mods/nmicra.htm
It's good because they're dead easy to drive, and you can have a close race without much practice.

Thanks LUEVEN, I'll have a look m8. How are you doing lap time wise at GTR? I still cannot get below a pb of 2.18 (usually low 2.20) with realistic lines no matter what. I'm getting a bit fed up seeing peeps on racesimecentral saying how they get clean < 2.11's etc with no cutting of Eau Rouge or the Bus Stop

I havn't even learnt the track yet,
so completing a full lap would be nice.
I'll give it a try ASAP instead of annihilating the computer in Nissan Micra Cup
and D/L ing the 4.6GB of Addons for F1 2002 and F1C that I've lost

Anyone know how to split the throttle and brake axis on the Momo wheel? Mine has just arrived (
), and the Logitech software test app shows that brake and throttle are not independant (ie; hold brake full down and pressing throttle releases brake - I want it so that they react separate to each each other)......bad one!
Thanks, Richard
