Neanderthal, have a look at http://www.listercars.co.uk/ and notice the driver's head movement from the suspension going over the track surface. Many people say GTR depicts unreleastic head movement and bouncing about the track but looking at this driver's head in the Lister videos might change your mind

Its only a tech demo MadGrip, try and get your time down into 2.10's (thats where the current hot lappers are on Spa atm), fiddle about with all your settings, suspension, brake ducts, tyres, camber, fuel loads, pressures, wing etc and just experiment with the handling. You will need these skills for the full game

Well the ps2 controller converter is sh!te - total waste of money that was. Gonna have to find myself a pc steering wheel now before I can even consider playing this.
Oh and 'L' turns off the limiter. All the commands are in the game under the options when you return to the garage.

Played Toca RD2 straight after GTR and it's shocking! had to turn the sound up cause it was so quiet compared to GTR. The handling was poo too!

well done Steve!
It depends whether you prefer the ultra realistic handling of GTR or you want the 'arcadey' feel that all Codemaster games seem to have. Before I'd played GTR, toca RD2 was fine, but when switching from one to the other it makes it completely obvious which one's the most realistic!

might leave it till the weekend and have a go with the datalogger to get a decent setup

Yeah exactly flat4, but these people doing 2.10's are doing it without the worry of damage to the car, no black flags or penalties and are taking extreme liberties with kerbs etc. No way could you drive like that safely for a full race. I bet they are all using soft tyres and only enough fuel for 2 laps.
I prefer to drive as if I were in a real race and lets face it, these are the people who would be a danger in a real race
