I ran 330 discs and AP 6 pots on my classic, they were spot on, although the pads took a while to warm up.

Link doesn't work for me either.
The picture Simon has posted is Evo's Photoshop impression of what they thought the model year 2003 Imprezas might look like, it's not a pic of some forthcoming car if that's what anyone was thinking.
The "extreme" cars people are referring to are the "Extreme" Imprezas in the Playstation 2 World Rally Championship II Extreme, and WRC3 games Jasoon.

That car was done by my other halfs friend, who does that kind of thing for a living.

Greasemonkey,
In your opinion what do yoiu think the next generation Impreza will be like? Do you think it will be radically different to today's car or an evolution like the latest legacy was over its predessor?
Do you think there will be a gain in performance?

here's some info about the Impreza redesign according to a poster at nasioc who was at a recent Subaru meeting in the US
"Those digital images you see are the same ones shown at the big meeting two weeks ago. They have finalized the design of the '06 Impreza and what you see is what we'll get. There will be slight tweaking of the overall openings, it will still have that upside down Alfa look."

the "digital images" he's referring to i found on Subaru Japans website

Also have to be careful looking at the "2005" spec US market Imprezas, as their model years are out of sync with ours, and I think you'll find the car known as their 2005 model is actually more or less equivalent to our 2004 model year cars.

mad yanks work a year in from with the models... muppets...
yeh its a two thousand five model dude....
wtf is all that about... i go theere for 3 weeks a year and still think there all mad!
Isnt the 05 impreza just another facelift, i thought it was sharing some of the parts bin with the sabura 9-2x, new console layout ect, door cards. Mostly cosmetic stuff.
Didnt think the real replacemnt was till 06 ?

Yes, that's right pbee, although it's pushing it a bit even to call it a facelift, as it's largely the same outside bar slightly different rear arches and bumper. More a "refresh" than anything else.
As for what the '06 Impreza eventually does look like, time will tell. The pics above may give a clue to the front end treatment, but IMO they should not be taken as sneak previews of the car, despite what the guy posting on Nasioc has reputedly said. I suspect that the '06 car will be based on a "new" shell rather than another evolution of the GD/GG, as the simulated images above suggest.
Catherine - I don't like indulging in speculation, or treating speculation as fact. There's also a very fine line between determining what is a "brand new" design, and what is an evolution of a predecessor. It's very rare for car manufacturers to chuck out an old model in its entirety and replace it with something completely new, there's always an element of evolution. About the only obvious recent example is when the Mondeo replaced the Sierra, or when the Focus replaced the Escort, and even in those cases there was a degree of carry-over with engines, transmissions and minor parts.
I'm not sure it's fair to describe the new Legacy as an evolution of the old one for example. Sure, it uses a similar floorpan, powertrains and suspension layout, but it's a fundamentally new car compared with the old Leg.
Same as when the original GD/GG (bugeye) Impreza replaced the GC/GF (classic). The transmissions, suspension layout and floorpan were largely carried over, but the car was still fundamentally "new".
BTW, pmsl at mrklaw, spot on there. Wonder if it'll turn out that Subaru's stylist Zapatinas is a closet Disney fan?!

Im just going to wait until you start to see the spy shots in something like auto car and then make my mind up
As GM stated, lots of manufacturers just enhance what they have, look at landrover, isnt it their diesel or V8 engine that dates back from the 50's?
Ford only really changed the engines on the mondeo's from the sierra's when they came in (from 8v to 16v zetec's) and if you park one next to the other you can see the similarities. Its just very expensive to design a car from scratch, and the people who cop those expenses are us.

Lol, you don't have to be an expert to know what those pics are Trashman, just a video game junkie!
Those stills aren't Photoshopped, they're from the Playstation 2 "WRC3" game, and are, as the caption says, a make-believe "Extreme" Impreza, with something like 600bhp as I recall, that you qualify to drive after you've won the main WRC championship (or however it works).
Those pics were never intended to be a representation of a forthcoming roadcar - neither are the Fabia Extreme, Focus Extreme, Xsara, 206 etc. etc, and nobody should interpret them as such. As mentioned above, this car may give some idea of Subaru's new corporate look, but beyond that it's a work of fiction, and that's how these pics should be treated.
