Chris, i am suprised you can drive with no boIIocks.
Andy, that carbon one is good for 0.00001secs per lap. I think this time you are going to need all the help you can get.

OK OK! Actually, data logging may be a LITTLE bit of an exageration!
Found a program that plots you're GPS location and draws it out. If it takes enough readings, and the receiver acts quick enough it should draw a map of the circuit. If I drive round slowly first, it deffo will. Then it should record times around that plot, and to certain points (e.g. half way). Still playing with it at the mo. but i'll see what it can do and let you know. Can't remember the name, but its freeware! If its a winner, i'll do some copies.

phew! ok, here goes:
super, having no bollocks means I drive a little faster, nothing to lose after all
andy, yes the sparco one as discussed, not the bell, doh! Would love the carbon one, but dont think it'd go down well at the mo'
steel, I'm getting the same thing as andy when I try to log onto the smacs forum, what's up with it?
mad, I have a program that converts tom tom recorded files into pushpin files in ms autoroute, doesn't give any speed info though.
You can record your lap on tom tom, then play it back and see how fast you went, I would imagine curborough is mapped on, I'll just check............................................. .................................................. .................................................n ope! it isn't
Curborough isn't even in tom tom, had to look at multimap to find it here
Doesn't matter, you could do a lap, and record the ground you've covered, just would look like you were in the middle of nowhere!
I spotted this >>>> esp automotive in evo magazine today, but unfortunatly it doesn't support pocket pc, yet!
I've mailed them for more info, I'll let you know how I get on. If they do support pocket pc, anyone interested in a group buy?
chris.

Do you not have access to any timing gear andy? Or we could run a couple of stop watches to get some split times etc. Anyone got a stopwatch? Then again, we survived long enough with mobile phones last year without any trouble.

My groupbuy panel filter arrived this morning, to add to my already Modified MY01. It is good for 30bhp apparantly.
Boys, I am going whoop your ***** this time, make no mistake. Bring it on you bunch of no-hopers.
(Now, where did I put that flame suit?)
Are these your gloves CW?

I know you can get in car chargers for the palm tops but not sure about laptops - they might need a bit too much power.

update on the ecu software for pda's:
Just got this email today from Niel Thompson:
Hi Chris
Thanks for your email, and its very good timing!
We have over the last few days finally received the finished product of the ESP CE & Pocket and its functioning exactly as spe'd. We are now looking for a few customers as 'early adopters' to try it and provide some feedback to us on it. It runs on any Pocket PC & CE with a .net environment loaded.
We are offering the package to early adopters at a discounted rate of £99.99 (rrp £149.99), if you are interested in taking up this offer please drop me an email and I'll take the order and send the package over to you.
unfortunatly, before you all get your hopes up, it only works on my00 and above, not CLASSICS!
if I remember rightly, SPECS had the same trouble with thier unit, and took ages to get a pre my00 release out. So, if you've got a my00 and above, you can get it, but otherwise your stuffed! It does work for other cars though after 2000, so, NWMARK, you may be interested, as would super and steel.
