back in my old days, when I was in the army cadets (dont ask!) we were on excercise in the hills above stalybridge, all kitted up with rifles and full combat gear and blacked out faces.
came across a ford cortina, rocking and rolling, all steamed up, so used it as a bit of camoflage practice. got within 2 feet of the car, totally unseen, then jumped out and scared the sh*t out of the occupants, then melted back into the night, like ghosts.
except for the laughing, you couldnt see a thing!

dannytwo, keep an eye on the northern section, we always post our drive intentions there, see you again soon,
chris.

ps, just had a great run along the snake, little play with a porche carrera, who chickened out after I passed him, and then onto strines. had to fill up with bp ultimate too, as the shell in glossop had run out of optimax!
seems to run the same though, so no problem.

LOL at beefy, I actually made it to cadet sargeant!

super, it wasn't "that" bad really, he was "all the gear and no idea" type I reckon, foppy hair, calvin klien shades, pi**ed at being passed by a common scooby no doubt, hehe.
I tend to find that people with high performance cars of that ilk, ie: porche, bmw m series, mercs et al, dont actually know how to drive them, and just get them as a company perk. what a waste eh?

anyway, got myself a quickshift from grade "a" yesterday, and mad has kindly offered to fit it on friday, so should be going a little quicker now.
All I need is a pair of driving gloves, and I'm set!
chris.

my mate is getting his new GT3 in june, i'll ask him to come out. i dare, i double dare any one to even try to get past him!!! he's a damn good driver, scared the **** out of me in his old GT3 and his Turbo that he's got now. the Gt's are in a different league to any othe porker, they are race cars for the road. his old one was roll caged up, race harnesses, carbon everything etc etc. absoloutly rediculous!!!!!!!

Talking

HA HA! Screw you all! I have 2 warped rear discs the thickness of cardboard, 1 knackered rear shock and a bolt missing from an anti roll bar mount. I told you it wasn't an excuse (this time)!!

All will be fixed this week, and a "treasure hunt" planned if I get around to it.

I might doctor Chris' quickshift to come off when we are driving......that'll give me an advantage!!!!! (Only joking......don't panic!)

Are you coming out driving again soon Gavindra?.............you nonce!

And the gloves are worth 40bhp......proven!

Gav, ask CW about a spec c... I bet that is closer to a gt3 on a B road...
He went out for a spin in my pals Bugeye spec c(325 bhp).... hes now putting a 400BHP+ 2.5 engine together for it now too....
They make my scoob seem pedestrian...

pete, I'll be watching your closely tomorrow, you do realise you have to get under my car to remove the circlip that holds the ball joint on the gear lever into the gear box?
guy at grade "a" told me that.

Pete, Keep an eye on Chris while youre under his car, if he thinks you might be getting a bit close to keeping up with him he might pull the trolley jack to get you "off the scene" for a few weeks so he can secure his supremacy!

MUHAHAHAHAH, etc, etc...

Can only go off what i've been in or seen ***** lad. never seen a spec c or been in one so i cant compare. from what ive read and heard they are fantastic. but they will have to be very very very good to beat this gt3. it is insanely fast

The spec c is every bit as fast as the GT3 on the b roads, just take a look at EVO mag when they did the comparison which also included an M3 CSL, besides, the GT3 is a race designed car which is designed for a race track and race tracks have very smooth flat surface's unlike the britsh roads which are more like rally stage's.

Through the gears the Spec C is every bit as fast as the GT3 bar top end speed but if OVER 160 mph aint fast enough for ya then you are a special individual indeed.

But sayin that the GT3 looks better but that come's at a high price, 90K for GT3 or 30K Spec C or WR1, depends on your pocket i guess.

Blitz.

I wasnt demeaning the gt3, as its a very desirable car... its just that a spec c is banzai...
I`ll bring him out again and he should take you for a spin like he did with CW

i dont think any cars can keep up with an evo or scoob down b roads. they're just to bumpy for the likes of Ferrari, Porche etc etc. but like you say tony, thats what scoobs are designed for and Porche, Ferrari etc are for tracks and smoother surfaces.

i'll go out in his new one and give a report, it is supposed to be better than the old one by far (how the hell it can be i dont know)

i'd deffo go out in it *****, i've heard so much about them

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Just had a post disappear.

Anyway Chris.............I know what i'm doing mate.......don't panic.

Just finished rebuilding my mates Sapphire Cossy engine last night. Depending on what turbo he gets he's looking at 450 ish BHP. I reckon that could take you up the A54!!!! OOh ERRR!!

Well its not there yet. The engine will take it but he still needs the turbo and more fueling.

The spec of the engine is getting pretty serious. New 200 block, new crank, forged rods and pistons, uprated cap and rod bolts, uprated bearings, gaskets, WRC head gasket etc. Uprated oil pump, uprated turbo damper. Padlle clutch, light weight flywheel, fully balanced bottom end, gas flowed head, stainless manifold, new valves, cams, followers etc. Vernier timing gear, head studs, all silicon hoses, oil breather, swirl pots etc etc etc.............the list is endless.

I think about £5000 has gone on it thus far!!!! All on an F reg. Saph!!!

It is a beauty though!

sounds like it will be bullet proof provided the mapping is sorted....
Dale who has the spec c knows a lad who had(recently) a 3 dr Cossie, 500 bhp but totally useless.... it still had old 5 stage boost controllers etc..
It wouldnt pull until 5k and then went ballistic... I think the best 1/4 mile time was 16 or 17.... just couldnt put the power down...
A 400 bhp car with drivability would be great...
Mental stuff throwing wads at an old motor...good fun though

Don't know how driveable it will be. I drove it when it was 350bhp and a dab of the laughing pedal lead to the thing trying to turn round on its own! Great in the dry, hot weather...........useless in the damp....never mind the wet!

Not sure what he's doing about the mapping..............now that really is over my head!

that sounds like a good idea to me *****, accompanied by video footage and a proper write-up on scoobynet
those roads around longnor would be perfect, some great places there to do some filming, I'll do some scouting with pete next week!

Chris - I've been waiting for Steel to resurface and give me a lift up to one of the meets but he's still really busy with work I think. No way I'm turning up in the mondeo!

I am sure I will be up to a meet soon, especially now the weather is improving.

Look forward to seeing everyone soon.
