i suggest it means they think they can explain it all away by saying to you something like "well there's been wrong on both sides, hasn't there? now we are prepared to forget all about it, and you can come back to work straight away. all we want is your word that you won't discuss this matter with anyone else, and if you could just sign here to indicate that you are prefectly happy with the outcome and you won't be taking any action as a result"
at which point you tell them where to stick it.

As above- The MD has no doubt asked this guy to appeal to your better nature in the hope of sweeping it under the carpet.
It's your call, shut up and go back or shout and take things further.
I think it's fair to say you are in your rights to do the latter otherwise they are open to get rid of you at a later date much easier because you allowed them to dismiss this case without a fuss.

Tread extremely cautiously. I would STRONGLY suggest having your solicitor review any terms that may be applied to your re-instatement. Do not sign away your right to sue. IMHO if you do you will be shown the door within 3 months

Soap episode, book, play, film????
Tim,
I really hope that this turns out the way that YOU want it to, be that back at work or with a payoff or whatever.
In any case with the way things are going you could send this series of events up to a few TV companies as a script for any one of a number of soaps
If it goes on you might even get a book or a film out of it....I can see it now...."The last Subaruai".....
Hope you don't mind me keeping it light hearted, always found that it keeps the spirits up myself.
Good luck.
Darren.

Tim, I was in this situation back at Airtours, but without the suspension bit. I went through all the disciplinary stuff etc etc, it was a right faff.
I let them go through it all with me etc etc, promised I would do this that and the other.
When they thought everything was sorted, I just resigned, and said that i had 3 weeks holiday owing and would take that from now as my resig, so they were buggered for the next month as they had no replacement. It allegedly took them 6 months to replace me
If I were you , tell them to stuff whatever they offer and leave. I left, temped for a bit then setup as self employed - would never go back now.
Keep us posted tomorrow.

Oh boy, time to open the gates of hell Go get em
I hope your solicitor is ready to sink his teeth into this big time. Good luck and look forward to the result of legal action. I see this becoming one of the longest threads ever (outside of muppet kingdom of course).
