Update on how to pay your sponsor money.
Please make all cheques payable to Scoobycity
You can bring these with you on the day & hand them to either :-
Tubs - Events Organiser / Moderator
or
Brian the Sn@il - Events Organiser / Moderator
or please send them on after the event to :-
Scoobycity
c/o 87 Darby Road, Beccles, Suffolk, NR34 9XH
Either way please make sure that the cheques are accompanied by your sponsor forms and only UK tax payers tick the Gift Aid box.By doing this the tax man will stump up some extra money.
The funds are being split between both charities, Macmillan Nurses and Cancer Research UK.
Cheers Mark

On the subject of fuel.
GREAT YARMOUTH IS 111 MILES FROM THURROCK ALLEGEDLY
OPTIMAX IN GREAT YARMOUTH . . . . . On the Caistor road heading out of Yarmouth.
OPTIMAX NEAR KINGS LYNN . . . . . On the North East side of Kings Lynn on the way home for the Southern hordes.
I will try & ring both to be sure they will be open on a Bank Holiday weekend.
Mark.

READ ALL ABOUT IT.GET YOUR POSTERS HERE.
I have just cobbled this together if anyone wants to print it off & then fix to your rear passenger side windows.
It will let the bemused bystanders know whats going on.
To answer your post below.
Yep.
There will be a post on here & on Scoobycity after the event which will let everyone know "who, what when & where" & most important "how much was raised".
This can only be compiled when all monies have been sent in.We dont know how long that will take as that will be down to you guys & girls. You will just have to be patient until it is announced & no one spend the £100 till its been awarded just in case its not you.
I dare say there will be some form of official message from the two charities involved as well once the dust has settled.

Guys and gals... just want to say that this is a superb effort. I haven't had a scoob for a couple of years now, but was alerted to this event by nevetas.
Be in no doubt that what you are doing is for a really worthwhile cause, and WILL make a difference to treating people with cancer.
I was diagnosed with testicular cancer just after Christmas and have had surgery and am now literally posting this on my pda from my hospital bed having chemo now, on my second cycle of the nasty drugs. I should be home tomorrow. I will have a good prognosis as far as i understand, and a lot of the progress in turning people like me from being a 'cancer sufferer' to a 'cancer survivor' is down to money raised by these charity events.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe day. You will draw a lot of attention, so do be careful... lecture over :-)
No idea how i will be feeling on sunday as this stuff can be a bit horrid, but i just may try to get over there to join you.

Thanks for your kind words TimD.I hope you make a full & speedy recovery.
We also received this note from a relative of a Scooby owner.
"I'm just writing a quick note to say a big thank you for the event your club have arranged along the East coast for Cancer reasearch and Macmillan. I'm sure my Uncle Steven (Rush 555) would have been the first there.
I was given the job of cleaning his Subaru and driving my aunty, two cousins and Steven's ashes to his resting place. He was so passionate about his Subaru that, when he left for hospital for the last time from home he commented to my Aunty Bev that the Subaru hadn't been cleaned knowing full well he wasn't to return home!
The Macmillan nurses were a great support to him and the family and I hope lots of money is raised.
Thank you again
David Roebuck

TimD - Thanks for that post. It makes us all realise just how close to home the threat of cancer is and how by supporting these charities can help combat it as is happening in your case.
I wish you a speedy recovery and don't worry if you don't feel up to coming along you will be there in our thoughts.

Good luck Tim, l lost my husband at christmas at the age of 49 to stomach cancer, it wasnt the cancer that killed him but the op. Its nice to hear some positive things about the dreaded disease. My husband was a community nurse and gave his life to helping others just shows you what **** life can throw up. I am now in my third year as a student nurse, and come across cancer in all ages, it is a worthwhile charity to do some good as it effects us all one way or the other.
Take it easy and l hope you havn`t given us nurses a hard time....
