Just to warn you a whole load of new speed limits have popped up on the A12 from Ipswich to nearly Lowestoft that I'm aware of.

The Suffolk mobile camera unit has also been very busy recently so BE CAREFUL !

We will have to rename it "The East Coast Charity Crawl" not "Run".

I noticed the heightened activity of the traffic units in & around Woodbridge when we were on the A12 heading for the TSC4 back in March.

I think most people realize that this is not a race in any shape or form & we want people to be able to actually look at the cars as we go by & we want to look at the views of the sea etc.

Not much point in raising loads of money for charity if we lower peoples perception of us as responsible Scooby owners & drivers.

Macmillan Cancer Relief

Local drivers go the distance for Macmillan!
A group of drivers from www.scoobycity.co.uk – an internet based Subaru Impreza Owners Club are embarking on an ‘East Coast Charity Run’ on Sunday 2nd May 2004 for Macmillan Cancer Relief and Cancer Research UK. Over 50 cars will take part in the 180 mile fundraising drive, which begins at Thurrock services, and continues through Suffolk and Norfolk, ending at Hunstanton.

The fundraising convoy will arrive at Great Yarmouth via A12, stopping at Citygrove Retail Park, Gapton Hall Road at approximately 1pm on bank Holiday Sunday. They will leave Great Yarmouth at 1.30pm and will continue along the coast road – A149 to Caister, the B1159 to Cromer and then back on the A149 to Hunstanton, where they will complete their mammoth 180 mile charity drive, due to arrive at 4.30pm.

Mr Michael Calver & Mr Brian Gardner, Events Organisers for www.scoobycity.co.uk said ‘It would be great if as many local people as possible could come out and cheer us on as we drive around the coast of Norfolk on Bank Holiday Sunday. We are keen to raise as much as possible for Macmillan Cancer Relief and Cancer Research UK at this event, as sadly one of our devoted Subaru Impreza owners died of cancer recently. Currently we have over 50 cars taking part, so we should be quite a sight on the day!’

Each car taking part has had to pay a £5 fee to register, but all drivers hope to raise as much as possible through sponsorship from family and friends. The events organisers hope that the event will raise around £5000, which will go a long way to support vital cancer services for local people.

Also the three radio stations Broadland, Norfolk and The Beach have been e-mailed with details of the event so keep listening people hopefully we should get a mention. The black thunder girls at radio Broadland have also been contacted so you never know fingers crossed we may get a visit.
