mr jiggerypokery.

I do have to say that the other account is not mine, I've been a avid member since 2000. so I'm a old timer here and feeling it today.

I do agree with a lot thats going on but also find myself along with others trying to understand why would anyone come on here, Scooby Net to abuse scooby lovers....................... M3 seems to be doing a good job.

I'm a loyal scooby supporter, scooby driver now for the last 5 years.
Done the bikes, M3 (Old left hand drive, not really something you can compair, but did dump it for a cossie at the time) Boxster and the 4x4 Land rover (I was on drugs this day)................ and for me it's the scooby all out winner at the moment.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! watch out for the new colt next year.

Whatever, the fact that the punctuation, grammer and spelling are identical, and the fact that AINO is called Clive is very suspicious.

Image is not very important to me either, I couldn't care less what anyone thinks when I'm in the scoob because I enjoy it so much. A chav sneered at me just after I got it because she looked at the 03 number plate and it was obvious the car was only a couple of days old.

I'm sure M3 drivers also look down on me, but that's their problem.

Are you mad? An M3 is obviously the car to go for. Engine/handling is FANTASTIC! One of the best. Driven mates co.car E46 M3 for 2 weeks, so had a good chance to test it out. You won't be disappointed. I'm sure WR1 is great too, but the M3's a different league all together in terms of quality and refinement.

As for it ending 10th in Evo top 10. So what. Still 10th best in last 10 years - not bad. If you followed their advice, you'd buy a Clio Williams over a P1. Ho hum. They're just a Ford advertising agency at the moment, hence my cancelled subscription.

...great fun!!! I don't know why people are so snobby about it - handling in wet is fun - you do have to be respectful of it and it takes more practice/skill, but definately more rewarding when you get it right. If you fancy pootling along safely in the wet, just turn on DSC and it'll look after you.

"They are chavs becuase the told you they could afford an M3!"

They didn't, and they have none of the properties of Chavs that I can identify.

"How can my Impreza be Chav....it cost me £22k

How can my 85 inch plasma TV be chav, it cost me £5k

How can my all inclusive holiday to Barbados be Chav, it cost me £3k

Cost is irrelivent, these days less is more. You always see council house tenants with big plasma TV's and the best stereo money can buy. It cracks me up."

Indeed, less is more, an Impreza is far less flash than most Audis, Porsches and BMWs. That is why I like them. I don't know anyone with a plasma TV or a really good stereo. I think my stereo is probably the best I have heard (not that I keep notes) and it is a bargain Richer Sounds special of unpopular budget brands, my telly is a 28" curvy screen piece of Goodmans rubbish that I hardly ever watch and is small enough that I have to wear glasses to appreciate it properly from the other side of the room. None of us were stupid enough to pay >£20K for an Impreza, none of us have been to Barbados.

Break the ridiculous stereotypes of who might or might not own a particular car, as it makes you look obsessed with your own image and "anti-chavdom" if I can coin such a phrase to the point where it is as bad as the "peasant underclass" you heavily berate.

Whilst I have a lot of frustration with lifestyle orientated non-contributory members of society, there is no need for it to pre-occupy my little mind

No point talking perfomace figures as on the road an M3 & a STippp are identicle... that's it! I've had bags of run ins with M3's even upto 150 on the privte 3 laner! and from the lights... result nothing in it.
Its been proven the Sti is quicker around a track, and would definitley be quicker on a bumber b road!
Aslo my Sti did the 1/4 in 13.04 seconds, around the same as an m3... although not seen any M3 times quicker! But I will eventually by aiming at high 11's.. how you you get an m3 to that then!

I have the $$ for an m3 but liked the scoob better, personal choice! if you comparing with a cost in mind then my m8's Tuscan S will be 180m further down the road than Mr M3 driver by 100mph... for the same money!

The M3 is a top motor, very nice inside well built comfy and very fast... but it lacks that raw edge and attitude to make it my choice at the moment!

Saying that if the new M5 is around the 55-60k mark... I'll be signing the cheque!

A man asks a simple question and a few mindless idiots start insulting the Germans and bringing up the old "remember the war" line and then start having a pop at the Subaru drivers calling them Chavs. Man this place is going downhill......
Let's be brutally honest, everyone would want a brand spanking new M3 over a WR1, why? beacuse we could drive it for a year, sell it, buy a new Type 25 and still have change at the end.

My stereo's a Binatone, does that mean that I should be a Skoda driver?

:-)

I know several people with M5's and M3's and although they are nice cars to sit in and do a long journey they seem a bit like an appliance - an expensive one with nice solid doors and great air con but I'd much rather have my WRX. When I went shopping for my car my missis asked if I'd been to check out the BMW? Nah, wasn't even on the list.

BTW, has anyone else noticed those Saab 95 Aero's flying past? A much nicer alternative to a BM if that's your thing.

Obviously this thread has took a turn for the worse !?!?

IMHO, i "can" afford a new M3 but i bought the MY04 Sti because i have always wanted one, the M3, is a fantastic car but its in another league, not a league above, but in a different country, in fact both cars are league winners in there own right, lets stop all this bickering about the war & so forth, this thread was started so people could post there opinions on what they would have (if they could).
So my answers are
M3 for day to day use &
WR1 for my weekend toy

Anyone else got any grown up answers to the question in hand ??

Thanks

sti-04!!

You buy a WR1 with your heart and an M3 with your head...at least if you like rally reps you do. The M3 is far more likely to make you look an oversteer hero if thats your bag. Me? I think they are both ok, but I have a ZX6R for Monday to Friday, a 911 C4S for Saturday and a 22B for Sunday...it's the only way to be sure (ah ****, I've just Chav-ed myself)

exactly!! who gives a *** what people think anyway?
Well, the post starter for 1. All you Impreza owners getting their nickers in a twist thinking a WR1 will cream an M3 when it may be fractions of a second quicker in some areas. Still, good for pubs and top trumps eh?

As for it ending 10th in Evo top 10. So what
What a great test that was Their top 10 faves, 3 Porkers, the latest GT3 is their fave, so why the other 2? P1? They said the Spec C was better, so why a
P1?

M3 for day to day use &
WR1 for my weekend toy
I wouldn't see the point of 2 "similar" cars like that tbh. Why not have a 22b instead of a WR1 for weekends? Much more special. Or something more extreme. Like a Radical/Westfield/Caterham. Wr1 isn't special enough for a weekend toy IMO.

Scooby's have maxed out on the fun packages
Really? What you mean as in, turn in understeer, yawn, 4wd, drives itself, no skill required to go fast type of fun? I've had 2 scoobs, including one with a few mods and neither were as fun as my 1.9 205. Way way faster, but not as much fun.
Just read the rest of your post Got home from school early did we?

Most BMW drivers can't see past the badge - and only buy based on marketing ..... I have only ever come across a handful who can actually DRIVE the thing
Ditto Scoobs. With an M3 it requires skill to drive fast.

Ok, no more **** thing, sorry if I p-ssed asnyone off..... I was trying to get to the German way of things, if there's anyone out there in the business world they you know what I mean.
Yeah. Could always do the British thing and just not give a to55, let the industry die and then blame it on others I guess

Sorry for all the quotes

****, I've checked out the Chav web site and it looks more and more like I might be a chav-er for my sins.

I need to get a reprisal.

But, let me put it another way

Would you rather see a BMW girlie, with her Burberry tweed jacket and scarf flapping, or a
SCOOBY Chaver girlie with her **** hanging out of the bottom of her little belt she calls a skirt, nice leather boot's and the cherry on the cake is the tight white top and bright red lips.............. I'll have a chav girlie as a coe driver any day of the week. Although getting out of first would be a problem, what with my hand feeling around for something other than my stick to play with.

Is there any chav-ie girls left out there ?

I've actually been asking myself the very same question, all i can say is i test drove an M3 2 weeks back, and...... it jus didn't flick my switch like the P1 did when i first drove that... Buying my next car has to give me the same feeling as i got when i got 300 yards down the road in the P1. I now think you just have to drive it and see how it feels. I buy my car for fun simple as that not an investment, not due to running costs, not what it looks like, purely how i feel when i drive it. Granted the WR1 not flick my switch either which means I shall look for something else, maybe T25.

There are some constructive comments on here but don't listen make your own mind up... Based on your experience and feelings when driving both cars...
