Are we not alking about fun factor here...................

Scooby's have maxed out on the fun packages, only seem to get better with time.
WR1 is but the next step at a price that normal guy's, not married and no children can get their hands on for more fun.

The M3 BMW much the same as the Audi TT (5total tossers), well thats another story all together, Look at me I have a BMW............tossers.......... and it's a M3, I have my nails, hair and makup on, fake tan and I'm all set for the m3.......... when was the last time you see a m3 going sideways, flipping from one side to another........NEVER

You see scooby's doing this all the time.

Good luck to anyone who thinks BWM is cool, Hitler/Natzi bubble car.
The only good thing to come out of Germany is.................. let me think,,, leather shorts, sad music, sausages.... I think not.......... come to think of it there's nothing other than the **** they give the rest of Europe.

Scooby lover all the way, bring it on sideways every day.

Thumbs down

Why do people really get so into 0-100 times etc? Its not very often two such cars line up side by side and do two perfect launches.

Both are great cars. Both are very different prices. I dont think either car has an image problem!? The people who think they have are the ones who have image problems.

I sold my M3 and bought a Spec C

It didn't really do much for me, I found the gear change too notchy/long and steering was vague (19" wheels) .

If I had another I would get 18's and SMG

Is Hitler still alive? Is he relevant to this thread? Do ze ***** run BMW? Can you really not think of anything good to come out of Germany?

Just because we fought Germany in a war doesn't mean that they can't produce a great car or two. I bought a subaru because it's Japanese, and they've always been our friends.

Is this not the Scooby Net?????????/ for people who have a love for the scooby. I did not think it was for muppets to come to our wed site (Scoobies) to stiff and and degrade our babies.

On the other hand we are here to have fun fun fun, so bring it on.
Although we should kick out the M3 lovers, much the same as kicking Germany out of Europe, it would benefit everyone involved.

M3 = straight line fools
Scooby = carzy, sideways, fun tastic experiance.

So we get the Nutter labbel around the nick, better that than what everyone thinks of the BMW drivers.

Sorry but Scooby wins hands down every time

Do they both do the same job, does the colour of the WR1 shout "feminine"
does a six sound better than a boxer 4, does the Impreza now shout boy racer, or do they both shout it.

If turning up at a business meeting would the M3 give a better impression.

I am on the horns of a dilema any feedback would be appreciated.

Image? WR1 wins
Dynamics? WR1 wins again
Build Quality? M3
Performance? Depends on what you are gonig to do in the car. WR1 over all
Looks? WR1
Bling? and the winner is..................the WR1

Scooby is developed for rallying, only coming about after Pro Drive won it's first world campionship race in a Legacy, in-fact this was the very last race. So thank you, mr. burns.

I can't understand why anyone in their right mind would try to compair a race bread rally cas against a touring sports car, M3.

Have you ever seen a m3 rally car in the WRC, I think not!!!!
Scooby's on the other hands, are on a win win situation.

So loose the M3 thing will you all, this is a Scooby zone!!!!

The original post for this thread asked directly about an M3 therefore losing the M3 thing would lose the point of the thread itself.

M3 in a rally - well, I don't recall BMW ever marketing the e46 as a rally car so any comparison is somewhat flawed.

They're totally different cars, designed for totally different reasons.

I don't often drive on ice and gravel. :-)

Well the older and best M3 did do rather well in several tarmac rallies, winning the tour de corse in 1987

Senior AP - well they are quite "driftable" .......

Lots of good things in Germany and longer term I want another M3 (had one of the last E36 Evo's), but for now Scoobs rule old boy!

The reasons for this are clear:
M3 with no options £40,350 (more likely to be £44K)
STi8/WR1 Fully loaded £29,990

Difference = £10-£14K!!

who's bright idea was it to compair such cars with each other.

would have been better to go for a M3 v Noble.

they are from different parts of the book, do differnet things in different ways.

As your on a scooby site you have to take all the stick that comes your way, your fault for bla bla bla and trying to diss the Scooby, it's our job to bitch about every other car other than Scooby.

May be if there was a M3net.co.uk site...........................................
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there's not, because......................
M3 = pants............everyone want's a Scooby

It's not really a fair comparison...they are both capable cars, but aimed at totally different sections of the market.
I love my STI, does everything I want very well, and I can always make it quicker!..
A friend has an M3 and I love it, it's more comfortable than mine but also much heavier, and with only two wheel drive a bit trickier in the wet... My point is I would never have one, because it's above my price range.

and

Good point mark
If we added 10-14k onto 44k we would be comparing an M3 with some very serious cars! and no-one would do that would they?

Impreza is a Chav's car? No one I know that has one wears anything Burberry at all AFAIK, none live on council estates, education is above average, a lot are late twenties or in the thirties, all drive the car because they like the way it drives and don't give a stuff about the image, most could afford an M3. I even had to look up a website to see what Chavs look like.

And what is ****** - I mean that!? Do you have one by any small chance???

Most BMW drivers can't see past the badge - and only buy based on marketing ..... I have only ever come across a handful who can actually DRIVE the thing .....

How can my Impreza be Chav....it cost me £22k

How can my 85 inch plasma TV be chav, it cost me £5k

How can my all inclusive holiday to Barbados be Chav, it cost me £3k

Cost is irrelivent, these days less is more. You always see council house tenants with big plasma TV's and the best stereo money can buy. It cracks me up.

ID - Nail....head....hit the....

I love this site!!!!!

P.S. I can see past the badge, I'm looking for a 944 Turbo as we speak. Shall I tell you how much I might be paying? Nope, lets not.

Senior AP - No, no I am a recent convert to the Church of Scoob - remember I've had an M3 albeit the E36 shape!

I look for the drive - not the badge: Last 6 cars (in 3 years): 03 Scoob WRX, Honda Civic Type R, M3 Evo, Lotus Elise Sport 135, Renault Clio 172, Golf VR6 ....

944 Turbo - trust you are after an "SE" then?

Yep, looking for an SE. There is something about them that enthuses me. I appreciate the subtle styling and the general quality of them.

I just like them - especially after having a go. They're excellent....Tiff agrees!! (Needell) lol
