Just put the details in under multiplayer making sure its on internet play. Also make sure you are on patch F and not patch e.

ok, i was playing against another scoobynetter before and my pc crashed lol
i seam to be getting the hang of it (kinda)
cant use my joy pad for sum strange reason
best lap is 1.55

ummm
well i downloaded the demo from the live for speed website, then i extracted it, then i ran it and the scoobynet server was right there
then i installed the patch "F" and the server wasnt there anymore but you can still get to it if you enter the details into the screen when prompted
cant get any easier,you sure you havnet downloaded sumthing else???

Sorry Bravo, tried to connect last night but never noticed the diff server name you had posted. I was trying to connect to SCOOBYNET, pass scooby and wondering why it was sayiing host cannot connect to master server, duh!!
I ended up on some public 'clean racing' server where whenever you took the lead with a better line they shunted you off at the first corner. Clean racing my ar*e

. Will be on tonight if you are about. I didn't get on till late anyway mate as I was trying out my ps2 to usb converter for my steering wheel. It was unusable once configured though 
Half a turn on the wheel or press of the accelerator/brake and everything was at maximum so the car either massively over steered or spun on the spot/slid off. And analogue was switched on on the steering wheel as well Looks like if I want a wheel it will have to be a pc one.
Went back to keyboard and used a new setup I downloaded and changed a bit and drove a new PB of 1:34.11 Still 2 seconds off flat4 though

Bravo, have to tried reversing the axis? My Momo Force was like this in LFS until I reversed the axis for both accel & brakes. Your a brave man using the keyboard

I was lapping a fair bit slower than I had been when playing offline earlier (might have been the double vodka and cokes though), and 2. In a couple or races on one particular server cars that were way behind me one minute, and I mean way behind, like 800 yards, and the next they were overtaking me! I'd normally think lag but the server seemed fine and the game didnt appear to be lagging and even that distance was too much to account for lag. Wierd.

Jye I did that lap int he XR GT Turbo, ie the best car of the 3 in the demo version. I prefer it out of all the cars anyway.
Once the keyboard is setup correctly its good to use I don't know about the reversing axis thing. I put the steering wheel away last night quite disappointed that it was useless but can have another look tonight, just means I spend less time racing though.

I done a bit of Google research and found this was a common problem with LFS, the cure was to go into control panel, controller settings, use the calibration wizard to re-calibrate, then make sure combined axis rather than separate axis was set in both XP and in LFS, and then reverse the axis for the throttle and braking in LFS. After that it worked fine but I have to re-calibrate the steering again in LFS if I reboot the PC.

Oh I got mine as combined axis! Also I don't know anything about the reversed axis so will look into it. Oh and my controller isnt configuarable in the os as its the ps2 controller adapter and it just sees it as a usb controller with no option to calibrate etc.

Regarding calibration if its XP you're using look under advanced in your contol panel, controller settings. I've a few controllers with no specific drivers but use XP's generic USB ones and I can still calibrate them with XP's calibration 'wizard', worth another look m8.

Jye it can't be calibrated under advanced either as it thinks its a ps2 game pad due to the converter and thats the picture it gives you. It pants basically but can't fork out money on something like another steering wheel specifically for the pc. It was a cheap otion that hasn't worked.
Anyway got the kb working well now so will have to stick with that

You could try some of these utilities, they are really for Logitch kit but do work with other controllers, I wouldnt waste time on them tonight but might be worth a try in the future when you have time.
