Ian

Recieved my (very heavy! ) parcel of goodies about half an hour ago.

Discs look fantastic - can't wait to get them on Wish I had time to tart up the calipers but that will have to wait for another time.

So, thanks Ian for the kit, and cheers to Chris for organising the group buy.

Thanks very much Ian, I dont care what anyone say's about cross-drilled/grooved, they look feckin good, no doubt at all.

Big thanks to Chris for organising this and for Ian for having the patience to take us all on.

Ian, just to say got it fitted today and they look fab, and feel great - looking forward to getting them all bedded in.

Wasn't 100% straight forward but I'll email you about that.

Cheers to Ian and Chris for the group buy, and to the guys at Xtreme Scoobies for getting them fitted (eventually )

Ian,

Have you sent out my order yet? You indicated that they would be sent at the same time as JohnMcC, but I have not received anything as yet.

If you are referring to what I said on my post, no you shouldnt have. There were no problems with Ian's stuff.

Xtreme now have the required stuff for tapping out which was one of the problems. The other thing that held up mine getting fitted was that the hoses were wrong but that was a misunderstanding. Luckily for me Xtreme had some that I could have.

Everything else was fine and pretty straight forward.

If you arent referring to what I said in my post, sorry!

John

Cheers John, yep I was.

So the hoses are ok for MY99?

How long did it take to fit them?

I'm going on Monday @ 8am, 100mile round trip for me but I've heard they are really good.

Also Knowlesy said he gives a little discount for RB5 Owner Club Members.

It was about 100 miles round trip for me too, but well worth it.

It took about 3-4 hours ........but that was only because we had to wait for the thing to come for tapping out. Most of that time they couldnt do anything because they were waiting for that part. I should imagine that it will take them half that time easily to do yours.

They were excellent, well worth the trip. Nice little waiting area with mags and an X-Box and really nice people. Know their scoobs too. I will certainly be using them if I need anything else doing, would have no worries about it.

Heres a couple of pictures of the kit on my MY03:

Before:

After:

Just need to tart up the caliper now when I next get a chance.

Oh, re: the hoses - Ian had sent me some for a classic. Apparently the rear ones are the same on classics and new age scoobies, but the front ones are different between the two generations.

Xtreme had some new age ones in stock so it was ok.

If Ian knows what year your car is I'm 99% sure he would have sent the right ones. Just a misunderstanding with mine.

Just check the part numbers to make sure you have the right ones if you are concerned though.

No problems.

Yeah, I'm just down the road (well, almost) in Bromley - not that far away.

As far as I can see, we're in a sort of limbo for independent scoob specialists. Some up in Essex like Xtreme and one or two others out west I think. But none, that I know of at least, more round our way.

Still, if the traffic is ok it doesnt take long to scoot round to Xtreme from our neck of the woods.

John

Yeah you're right the only one near I think is someone called Barretts Motorsport in Kent. Somone from RB5OC had his car modified by them but dont know much else.

As you say just a little drive to Xtreme.

Well, The brakes are now on the car,and they fitted without any problems,

But i have to bleed them again,as when i push the pedal the first time it almost goes to the floor,i can then pump it ones and it feels fine..

I run out brakefluid,as i only had a 1/2 ltr.,
i have hade the calipers of for a month, and the brakehoses was just down in a bottle.

So i will get some more fluid today and bleed them again tonight.

They look really good on the car

Ian,

Just spoken to Gavin and he said that his car is at yours ready for you to do the brake swap. Do you think that you`ll get them off in time to make the delivery for tomorrow?

I`ve just sent you an e-mail confirming the delivery address etc

Any probs please just get in touch.

Cheers,

Chris.

No I didn't get the swap done in time to have all yours cleaned up and packaged up when the couriers called , They will go on monday now , but I will take the bells off the discs and polish them up for you as they are covered on dust , I will clean the calipers up also so they will look like new for you.

Cheers Ian

Exclamation Caution

Make sure you don't over-tighten the bolts holding the extension bracket to the hub. My local garage did this and the brackets fell off after a couple of hours!!! The head of each bolt had sheared off. Spoke to Ian - he recommends 100 Nm torque + threadlock.

Yeah, I'd recommend the threadlock.

My original bolts worked loose and a couple actually fell off completely. Sourced some FOC from a local Engineering firm and since I sorted them myself I've not had a problem. I'd recommend checking them after a week or so yourself even if you do get a garage to fit them.
