Interesting - Sammy H - I would say that I have lost a lot of the flat four burble - the noise is also significantly reduced - I can now run the car without the baffle in and it is much more tolerable.

At full bore it definately sounds less Scooby.

Also, I know this is one of Steves favourite jobs - I'm glad that I have created a market for him. Tell him to get some proper carbide grinders, he'll do it in half the time

I phoned when he was doing mine, quote, '**** happens, David!'.

Hi Sam,

Yes, indeed, long time...

Hmmm, been thinking of this for a while.

I'm not sure, exactly, but with my fully-decatted exhaust I get no pops or flames which makes me think it runs quite lean. A good excuse for a Link methinks!!

A visit to Kevin may be in order once I've had the MOT done and know whether It'll be safe to do!

i think the sound of the car also depends on the exhaust that is fitted, mine is quite anyway.

now it sounds different on cruise but it still have the flat 4 beat, which it should as it still unequal length.

my car is distinctively louder on full throttle though.

one thing for sure the car is deffinitely faster

Question

My uk car has a link and full scoobysport system but I dont get flames or popping.

I hope I don't lose too much of the sound when I get the manifolds done anyone got a recording they could post? (subtle hint)

Sammy,

Surely, with the link, that's by design! ;-)

With my Jecs I am just unlucky?

With a "correctly" mapped link (going for efficiency as well as power) flames, pop's and bangs isn't of interest.

But it's so when it happens.

Basically it's a matter of getting the zorst glowing hot, and putting a bit of unburnt fuel through it - pop.

it is not really that easy to get flames with the link ecu if you are running standard dump valve. i remember helping a friend map his 93wrx which had a vent to atm. dump valve and intially when we were running rich, my god we thought the rear bumper was going to melt. the flames were huge
