Mixed Feelings
Hmmm. Got to say that, like many others, it's too fussy for my liking (visually). Some excellent additions - especially in the for sale section where content is categorised. Useful. Speed is definitely a concern - takes far too long to load a page. And, completely off the wall, why in the "welcome" message to say I'm logged on does it insist I last visited the site on January 1, 1970!!!! (not that it matters, but I'm very age conscious....).

I have done some Big Style moaning on here
Do you know its getting better looking less cluttered and boxed, can we mute down the white a little please.
I know it looks clean, but less white would be nice
I don’t know why we have the bold and standard text on the forum and go to first post on come threads, confused by that sorry
I Like the carbon fibre bits
I like to think I am being a little constructive, keep up the good.
At least you seem to be listening to us, Thanks

The enhanced editor is not working so I have just found out, see below

Been away for a couple of weeks logon to scoobynet and BANG! Huge improvement in looks and potential ability over the old, woefully inadequate predecessor (for a BBS of this size). No doubt as more features are turned on and explored the better it will become.
Can’t comment on speed as I'm on broadband and it works fine. I presume its been tested on 56k prior to going live and been found acceptable
Not sure on the charging for posting items in for sale if non SN+ member, think that should have been discussed more openly rather then just do it, suck it and see!

At the end of the day ScoobyNet needs to cover its costs and the webmaster has to find a way in which he will gain enough money to cover the running costs.
Either through advertisement or members paying. It should be noted that you don't have to by a +member to post in for sale you can register for £5 to be allowed to post in the for sale forum.
Best bet to read other stickys.

Most other people has expressed their opinions so I might as well.
First off all well done to all the mods for getting this up and running in a short space of time, I can imagine lots of hours were burned over it.
Generally I think it is slightly better and although there are few good things missing from the old forum I'm sure these will be addressed by the mods so give them time. But a few things I feel should be addressed.
The anoying preview message box drives me nuts on the main screen, please give me an option to switch it off!!
The white is a bit bright when paired with grey on the posting I'm sure this could be calmed down a bit.
Why do we need to know the post count on each post?
Get shot of the muppet forum, this IMHO has attracted a minority of users who spoil SN, this in turn filtered down to the rest of SN forums and gave the mods a great deal of hassle on moderating and webspace.
The worst thing in my opinion is for me to pay to use parts of this site i.e for sale/wanted items, and before anyone has a go at me I realise the work Simon and the crew puts into this I've virtually been here from the start, but I think it a shame that you have to resort to charging the enthusiast. I can only presume this is to stop "burger boy/muppets" advertising useless crap, well I'm not a muppet or a burger and have sold and bought items from here with good success, it's a shame the enthusiast will suffer. Sorry if I sound harse but I refuse to pay to advertise on SN.
If the for sale section was free the opinion poll would be completely different btw!
Keep up the good work chaps!
Rob.

Hi Simon/Shaun
Now that the poll is well under way what action is going to be taken on the verdic and when does the pol close.
I.e if you close the poll and the poll states more user's prefer the old Scoobynet than the new one are you going to go back to the old 1, If this isn't the case then what is the point in doing the poll in the first place??

Sorry, the poll should have been closed after 2 days as it was to gauge first impressions.
The problem now, is that the only people who are voting are those that have an interest in making something happen that is not happening. In other words, those who do not like it are the only ones voting. Those who do like it, are off enjoying scoobynet 3
All the best

Simon - perhaps they didn't know it was only supposed to run for 2 days? How do you know why the current voters are voting?
IMO it's highly likely you would like people to prefer SN3. I personally think it's an improvement and has further potential. However, it seems a bizarre leap in logic to say that current voters are necessarily anti-SN3.
Unless your comment was meant to be tongue-in-cheek...?

So you could apply the same logic to the poll that you ran the day before yesterday for 24 hours regarding General For Sale?
The vast majority of people who want something for nothing are likely to vote to get it! ROFLMAO!! You could tell that was going to happen and I was not at all surprised at the result.
Bit of a silly poll if you ask me

Guys. I'm going to try to deal with this as clearly as possible.
Decisions have been made. You can (as you appear to be doing) draw your own conclusions as to why they have been made.
If the result of the poll was so obvious, what on earth is wrong with us following the outcome? If it is obvious, then the majority of people would prefer it.
In addition the poll was plastered across every single forum on scoobynet, so we saw votes from all parties that place an importance on the decision. If they don't place importance on the decision, we're not interested in their opinion (READ THIS CAREFULL) that is NOT to say that their opinion doesn't count, it just means we would rather take notice of the people that place importance on it, as they are the ones that particular decision will affect.
Anyway. The decision now stands.
ScoobyNet3 is staying.
a ScoobyNet Classic Layout is being developed as an option.
The For Sale forum is staying as it is for now.
All the best
