When are you going to move from the Beta version to the real version.
I am getting page not found errors links that dont work to reset your passwords then after 4-5 attempts they do work.
Took me 5 attempts to get in because I kept getting PHP tmeout errors
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in F:\websites\scoobynet\www\bbs\includes\db_mysql.ph p on line 205
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in F:\websites\scoobynet\www\bbs\includes\functions.p hp on line 467
I wouldnt mind if this was at 7pm but this is at 1 am in the morning when things should be a bit quieter.
The whole thing just seems to be creaking already not surprising really when you have 50K of html/script to download without the images on a page with 3 posts on it.
I accept there will be teething problems but this is basic stuff that needs sorting out.

I don't like it.
Some of the new features are good but don't outweigh the negatives. It is so slow I am now picking and choosing threads to read. It is far too clutterred, to the point where I don't enjoy looking at it.
The real biggy though.....It now looks like a BBS, severely going to curtail my work use as everyone can see I'm on a BBS from about 3 miles away. At least with SN2, you could scroll down and hide the banners and it looked like text!!!!
Backward step IMO, and I think this will be reflected in the number of posts over the next few days.

Thank you for letting us know that it is not acceptable to have page errors, etc. We thought that was perfectly ok!!!
Give us time please, we're working right through until the early hours each night, and then first thing in the morning. It's only been up for about 36 hours (well parts of) and we've already made huge improvements. It will take time to get it completely right, but trust me, we are doing nothing other than working on that.
The full version is not available yet, but should be soon, so we will upgrade asap, but the page errors are nothing to do with the software version.
regards
Simon

Re: Look and feel, etc.
I'll say this again. We can sort all that out once we have the site stable. My suggestion would be that we can have options so you can view it how you like. One of which will be very plain and simple like ScoobyNet 2.
Please give us a bit of breathing space to work on it flat out, and support us while we do this.
Cheers

I have about 2000 emails in my inbox this morning, so it may take me a while to get through them.
Are you sure it was PHP code, and not the CSS sheet info? Some browsers seem to do that every now and then. If it was the source code it is likely that it's to do with the server issues we're having.
Cheers

Simon if that is possible to have the option to view like SN2 then I think that will make a huge difference to people's opinions. I for one will be very impressed with that sort of option and I think it will bring back many of the users who have reduced their usage due to the current eye ball burning looks it has at the moment.
The new options are great, understand the need for subscription based forums like for sale but for me its just the whole look of it that kills it for me and many others from what I have read
Looking forward very much to being able to change the views

2000 emails :wow:
Speed thing seems to have sorted its self
TBH now I have got used to it I actually like it
The thing about only being able to edit your posts for 1/2 an hour is
Good - Makes you think about your post and stops other peoples replies looking stupid once edited
Bad - If you don't think about your post then it falls to the overworked mods to amend
But thats my 2 euro's carry on its getting there

What can I say? I'm speechless. Fantastic!!!
Everything works, the User Panel is great, the calender with events is useful, the enhanced text formatting feature is amazing, you can format the text as you type like MS Word or something. Wow!
A few things I noticed that are usually different (not saying they should be changed, just that I noticed):
- avatars are switched off
- attachments are switched off
- it says I joined in 1970, why is that? (just kidding!!! )

Oh, and Quick Reply is on. Probably good for General / Muppets etc, but maybe this should be deactivated for the more serious forums to avoid spontaneous uninteresting replies? Just a thought.
Amazing stuff!!!

It would be nice if it was skinable
I would chose the classic view like (scoobynet2) and basic interface with less options.
Don’t like the modern Crayola Paint box meets Tellytubies look.
I also use the classic view in XP like many others these days for the same reason.

Site has a lot of graphics. It looks a bit busy.
The old one got the info across.
But I am sure I will get used to the new site.

To the moaners and knockers just think yourselves lucky this transition was not managed as disgracefully as the RS BB! three months offline!!!
Everyone should be taking their hats off to the hard work this has took and how painless it really has been.

I like most of the "mods", new silver smilies are nice, CF look Scoobynet logo is and I the log off option looks like its copied from Windows log off, ie fade to black and white.
All in all some good changes
Thanks
and
Well done

A bit 'blocky' with lots of wasted space below short posts, and in the left margin. No doubt those who corner skillfully will tell me if there are fewer posts per page (= more pages for long threads). I find it a bit 'unfriendly' psychologically, and it may be the blockiness which causes this??
But I think I'll get used to it
Phil
edited to say that I find the use of Activex a bit irritating, as I normally set my browser to warn of it.

The 30 min Edit function
The only problem with that is if something critical. an event, time and place etc is posted you cant change it only amend further down the thread.
Sometimes its nice to change things, as not to offend if it was taken the wrong way, should a later post misunderstand your intention.
Could cause all sorts of confusion IMHO.

I know your main priority is to improve the site speed any technical issues. But can I please ask you to remove the black boreders arond most objects especially on the forum select page as this is very harsh on the eyes to look at.

Second questions is the forgotten password link working as the email containing my new password did not get through, and I know it did not work for at least 1 other person.
