Paedophile in Tunbridge Wells

Brendan fair enough but I wasn't really saying that the accusation on the fence was definately a concern and that perhaps the local press should clear the name of that person as its the only way to reach a large population. Whether that is true or not it doesn't change the fact of recent attempted child abductions outside of primary schools in the local area, something which I posted on a short while back. Yes there is education and yes there is responsibility of the parent but it still doesn't stop these people from hanging around schools being a threat. I have personal reasons to worry about my son being at risk because he lives with his mother and I have no idea where he is or what he is doing apart from when i see him for 2 days out of every 14.
And as for Brit_in_Japan quoting me there doesn't suggest I want to form a lynch mob. Plenty of ways to drive someone out of an area with out physical abuse/personal threats/lynch mob. Publicising their existence (once facts are known) can be enough to drive them out which is not the same as forming a lynch mob!
Like I have said I am not gonna act on some writing on a fence, I posted straight away and said that it maybe be someone trying to get back at a completely innocent person ffs

So you would publish their address. You don't think that someone will daub their doors with paint ? Wait for them to come/go and shout/threaten them ? Maybe pour a little petrol though their letterbox ?
Just because you wouldn't do those things doesn't mean others won't. It's happened before, and the type of people to do this aren't the brightest in the world. They even attacked the house of a paediatrician FFS !

Initially I'd rather take the approach of seeing how the local press are handling the situation and what if anything local plod are doing before doing anything else.
I would say its too late re the publicising his address currently if its plastered all over a fence on a main road into the town.
What other people do is no concern of mine. I am not responsible for moronic behaviour based on information idiots have found out.
On that basis of keeping your mouth shut you would never publicise anything in the press in case some to$$er somewhere took it the wrong way and took out a personal vendetta. Could be any issue of public concern that some derranged idiot takes the wrong way.

i have young kids and i am more concerned about people speeding in the street than i am about whether a paedo lives next door.
your kids will be more likely damaged by seeing your own narrow minded selfish attitude than by the "guilty" padeo in question.
order up some perspective maybe?

LOL yeah cheers Tiggs we're narrow minded and selfish because we dont like the idea of active paedophiles living in the area?
I think your the narrow minded one if you think your children would be fine and there'd be no risk if you had one in your area that was 'active'.

you mean naive not narrow minded....but i dont belive i am, i belive the risk to be small compared to others. if i wanted to spend time on protecting my kids i would be better off teaching them the green cross code and stranger danger stuff than worrying about paedo's.

ooh, I know that area, have a friend with a couple of kids lives near there, think I might mention this to her. One hopes it's just some evil vendetta, and not a real paedophile in the area.

Markus - lets hope so
Tiggs stranger danger stuff than worrying about paedo's
Such a paedophile would be a stranger!

As previously mentioned, many kids that are abused do know thier abuser, again this is not exclusivley the case but it does happen.

Thats why I edited my post prior to your reply.
I will warn my kids of all potential dangers that I feel are relevant and this will incorporate *ANYONE* who inteferes with them in an inappropriate way - whether they're known or unknown to them.

You drive out one paedophile, you've still got more on your doorstep
Anywhere you live, i'd bet theres paedophiles near you and they might be people you'd never imagine would do that kinda thing.

crazy- you drive a paedo to a new area and they drive theirs to your area...now two areas have paedos in hiding.....meanwhile your kids are more at risk from eating crap at burger king than they are from paedo attack.

Hi I am glad I saw this post,it's a touch too close for comfort ...I have heard of someone near langton green who has had to call the police out to a strange man who was loitering near houses where children live I am unsure of what happened to him,the police did come out and he went to whereever he came from one assumes.
There have also been some news in local tunbridge wells press about children being approached by some one in a car.
So there may be more to it than just revenge but then again maybe not,at least forwarned is forarmed..I for one think everyone who lives in the area with children should know about it!

We had some freinds whose 4 children were abused by a family friend of 20 years. So he wasn't a stranger.
Also have a friend whose a copper and she explained that paedophiles often groom their victims for many months. First they'll just stand near them, then after a few months will say hello as they pass them in the street, then they'll pass a few words, and before you know it they suddenly aren't a stranger anymore to the child.
I have to say on balance I think I would rather not know if there was a registered paedophile in my town, and I'm not so far from Langton, as my reaction would probably be to wrap my kids in cotton wool more than they are already.
At the end of the day there are millions of kids in the UK and very few are subject to abuse outside of friends and family. In fact as has been said I think already, the risks of a road accident of some degree is probably higher.
