So you would publish their address. You don't think that someone will daub their doors with paint ? Wait for them to come/go and shout/threaten them ? Maybe pour a little petrol though their letterbox ?

Just because you wouldn't do those things doesn't mean others won't. It's happened before, and the type of people to do this aren't the brightest in the world. They even attacked the house of a paediatrician FFS !

Perhaps one of the mods can amend the title of the thread as per my 1st reply on page 1

I meant to put 'suspected' in the title but forgot!

Chris, I don't think titles can be edited. Maybe you edit your first post to put that bold sentence clearly at the top? Should have the same effect.

i have young kids and i am more concerned about people speeding in the street than i am about whether a paedo lives next door.

your kids will be more likely damaged by seeing your own narrow minded selfish attitude than by the "guilty" padeo in question.

order up some perspective maybe?

you mean naive not narrow minded....but i dont belive i am, i belive the risk to be small compared to others. if i wanted to spend time on protecting my kids i would be better off teaching them the green cross code and stranger danger stuff than worrying about paedo's.

imo

ooh, I know that area, have a friend with a couple of kids lives near there, think I might mention this to her. One hopes it's just some evil vendetta, and not a real paedophile in the area.

Paedophiles would be a stranger!
Not all paedophiles are strangers, nor are all strangers paedophiles. This distintion should be made to kids and they should be aware of the potential dangers of both.

As previously mentioned, many kids that are abused do know thier abuser, again this is not exclusivley the case but it does happen.

Thats why I edited my post prior to your reply.

I will warn my kids of all potential dangers that I feel are relevant and this will incorporate *ANYONE* who inteferes with them in an inappropriate way - whether they're known or unknown to them.

my point was that warning my kids about strangers is a good use of my time....trying to get a local, known, paedo to leave the area would not be a good use of my time.

You drive out one paedophile, you've still got more on your doorstep

Anywhere you live, i'd bet theres paedophiles near you and they might be people you'd never imagine would do that kinda thing.

crazy- you drive a paedo to a new area and they drive theirs to your area...now two areas have paedos in hiding.....meanwhile your kids are more at risk from eating crap at burger king than they are from paedo attack.

Hi I am glad I saw this post,it's a touch too close for comfort ...I have heard of someone near langton green who has had to call the police out to a strange man who was loitering near houses where children live I am unsure of what happened to him,the police did come out and he went to whereever he came from one assumes.
There have also been some news in local tunbridge wells press about children being approached by some one in a car.
So there may be more to it than just revenge but then again maybe not,at least forwarned is forarmed..I for one think everyone who lives in the area with children should know about it!

We had some freinds whose 4 children were abused by a family friend of 20 years. So he wasn't a stranger.

Also have a friend whose a copper and she explained that paedophiles often groom their victims for many months. First they'll just stand near them, then after a few months will say hello as they pass them in the street, then they'll pass a few words, and before you know it they suddenly aren't a stranger anymore to the child.

I have to say on balance I think I would rather not know if there was a registered paedophile in my town, and I'm not so far from Langton, as my reaction would probably be to wrap my kids in cotton wool more than they are already.

At the end of the day there are millions of kids in the UK and very few are subject to abuse outside of friends and family. In fact as has been said I think already, the risks of a road accident of some degree is probably higher.
